I'm not trying to pick on anyone, but did I just see synnworld as the LAST ranked player in all of Demigod? (Not that rankings mean a ton, but last is last...) I don't think that necessarily says as much about him as a player as what an undying commitment to the Queen of Thorns will get you. Noobs be warned.

As someone who has played Oak almost exclusively since Reg was the top ranked Demi and Oak was 5th (think about that!) I can say I have tried just about every build style out there. You get Shield 3 at level 7. Period. (The only exception is pure minion buids, but I don't really play those as they are really annoying to play against and really boring to play.) Any version of hybrid or assassin Oak should have Shield 3 at level 7, especially if you are on Cataract, which is 90% of the time. Yo
My brother, Chiefy01, and I will be playing until it's just us vs. the AI. By that point hopefully we'll hear something about Demigod 2? Since I bought Demigod, I have played LoL, L4D2, Batman: AA, CoH, Bioshock2, Torchlight and probably a few others. When I am playing any of those, I'm usually thinking, Why am I not playing Demigod?
Any update is good news at this point. I think many Demigod players are starting to feeling like they are on little rafts drifing farther and farther away from the wreck until there is no one left to play with. Just sad, empty loneliness. So a post from Frogboy is like a flashing light on the horizon. Hooray! Maybe DG isn't totally dead yet!
I should say that if someone knows better and can clarify , that would be great. I don't know the specifics, 'cause I've never done it, because I'm not a vulgar nickname for a female body part.
I may be wrong, but I believe that if a player unplugs their internet (physically) it causes the game to Desync, so no win or loss for anyone. Ending, conceding or ctrl-alt-del give the game time to register that you've quit, but if you just unplug, it doesn't know what to do. I think if the host does it, he gets a win, and everyone else a loss, or nothing. Like I said, I may be wrong, but that is how I understand it. I hope I'm not giving any pointers to junior-douche-bags out there,
Yeah, he has spoiled a number of games I've been in. Really too bad when someone doesn't realize the point of a game is to have fun, and that if you spoil other people's fun, they don't want to play with you anymore. I'm working on teaching my 2 year old daughter that. I think she is figuring it out faster than many DG players.
My brother and I would be happy to be eliminated in the first round. : )
There is an easy way to fix this. They should only allow to buy only 1 item from each category( such as 1 mana helmet or 1 armor item, you got what i mean.) Then the health difference between DG would not be so different.
Yeah. I had a post arguing for this about 9 months ago. I know we're talking about a video game about demigods, but it is a bit ludicrous that one guy (or four legged beast) can be walking around wearing 3 sui
LoL has some nice features, the biggest one of the being that it is free, which allows me to play upstairs and my wife to play downstairs on the laptop. That kinda tells you everything though, MY WIFE PLAYS. ON A LAPTOP. So while it is great for teaching my wife a little bit about strategy games, and is a fun thing to do inbetween Netflix arrivals, it's not Demigod. There are some features it would be nice to see in Demigod, but LoL is the lesser game.

I play a hybrid Oak as well, and the entire point of Oak is playing cautiously till level 7 when you get Shield III. It is the single most powerful and versatile ability in the game. Everything else should be a secondary consideration till you have Shield III. After that, if you die, it's because you messed up, not because they have a more powerful DG than you. Try leaving off either penitence or raise dead/ soul power till later game (Surge and DJ are still essential.) I tend to get raise de
I posted somewhere else about the same sound issue. I reinstalled the game and it fixed that problem. However, I now have no roll-over data on abilities and items. Is anyone else having this problem?
Frenzy seems like a waste to me, how often are your spirits attacking creeps while you yourself are in melee range to proc this, and also the enemies weak enough to be thrown in the air generally die in one hit to Surge of Faith, so you short yourself mana and health when you kill them with anything else. Oak just has so many good abilities to take, I can't picture spending a point on this one.
I don't give a crap about my spirits attacking creeps at that point, but th
@ Quest GAV Yeah Oak is good. He doesn't dominate the battlefield the way LE or UB can, but he does in a quieter way. Shield/port is probably the best combo in the game. If you die after level 7, you screwed up.
Didn't see these anywhere else; hope I'm not repeating. 1. When I first loaded the game after 1.2, any command I gave my DG resulted in a random sound effect from any of the DGs or the narrator. For example, telling Oak to move might result in Sedna saying, "I'm out of mana," or the narrator saying, "The Light Flag has been captured!" (Which isn't even something that made the final cut of the game.) It's like it was pulling from the entire sound file everytime and giving something com
Coz rankings mean anything.
Well, they don't mean EVERYTHING, but they do mean something. Since I'm still stuck in the 36Ks, I'll probably pay attention to anything anyone in the top 1,000 says. Doesn't mean they are right, but it makes it worth considering. At the same time, I've gotten great advice from people of my rank as well.
@ Jongalt Yes that was informative. I didn't list my build order because I didn't want this to be a build discussion, but rather about specifc counters. I play a very similar Oak to you in some ways. I actually used to play that "favorite" build of yours a lot, maxing spirits and penitence by ten, and if you are playing in an evenly matched game and you make no mistakes you can get a stupid amount of kills. But you die very easily, and better players were creaming me.</

@ RAWRRRR Knew you were ranked high RAWRRRR. Didn't realize it was 4. Will take your advice very seriously. Thanks for helping the little guys out. [e digicons][/e]
@ RAAWWRRRR Yeah. It's been a while since I tried a straight assassin build. It never worked for me, but that was also when I was a noob. I'll give it another shot.
All these are helpful tips, but I was actually looking to see if people had some DG specific, or build specific strategies that they employed. For example, I was facing a ice TB who had maxed his Freeze early. So I pretty much gave up on minions and went all Penitence. But that one is easy and obvious. The DGs I have the most trouble with are Minion LE (surprise), Beasts with 7k+ Hp (surprise) and annoying as hell Mine-Regulus. What are people doing against these? Is t
@ RAWWRRR Yeah, that is basically how I do it. I was in a 2 on 2 the other day (prison) and my teammate was giving me crap for not helping him in the pointless fights-feints that happen -> lvl 5 (Everyone had 500 plus games except me, so no one was going to let themselves get killed.) So while they were screwing around, I was leveling and 15 minutes later I was "annhilation" and the game was pretty much over. Yeah, some people don't appreciate that if you let Oak or Erebus
sigils are your best friend and ally, also a wand of speed is helpful for catching speedy little devils.
I do get Wand of Speed if I can, but it is lower on my priority list. I don't use Sigils enough.
So I play Oak about 90% of the time. I have a build I'm fairly settled on. Without getting too into it, I'll let you know what skills I would get if the game went to 20: Max Spirits, including Frenzy Max Penitence Max Surge of Faith Max Divine Justice, including Rally Shield III Soul Power I BotF, Priests, Archers (sometimes), Vlemish, Hauberk, Nimoths, Plenor, Slayers, Bishops, Demolishers. I play pretty conservatively until lev
