Yeah, Rawrrr. you're right. During Epoch 2, I had probably 250 games, but this time around I've only had time for roughly two games a night fri and sat. Not really enough time to more than one or two dgs fairly well. That said, having switched to TB recently, games where I play Oak or Rook, it is not a hard transition back. I don't think it is terribly broken, I just think there is an obvious way to make it even a little better. And Ke5trel- so true. I now have a much better i

They ought to be. No offense to SD or GPG, but this tourney has done more to get people back into DG than anything they have done for a long time, probably since Occ and DA. And how many hours has it cost you pacov? Even if they paid someone say, $20/ hr to just organize tourneys, it would more than pay for itself if it got people to keep getting friends in the game.
Passfail and prozombe: What times work for you? We are EST and are usually available some weeknights 7-9:30 and Fri. and Sat. 9:30-> whenever (2am-ish). Looking forward to it. -Baddaddy and Chiefy (This Friday I won't be available till a little later, like 11)
As I mentioned before, Teseer, I have blatantly ripped off your build for the tourney. And yes, I am planning on playing it, or at least having it as a option, depending on matchup. As far as the build goes, after trying both pure TB versions as well, I swear by this build. I don't think any other TB build can compare for control, staying power, and finishing ability. Plus, it is a lot of fun to play. And no Teseer, there isn't anything more satisfying than working a Bea
Seriously though. If that is settled, when do we start?
Wow. Awesome. Went from a first round bye to playing Jaws and Cow. Classic.
Although people will accuse me of bias since we scored a bye we never would have received based on ranking, I have to say: If you want the tournament done differently, organize it yourself. pacov has put hours into this thing, he put it together, it's his call. If this tournament is half as fun as it looks like it will be, there will be more. Especially if the seeding from this one is used to make everyone happier about the next.
All good reasons, RAWWWR and Split. I was talking about the early game where a tower in your lane is the difference between owning that lane and not. After 7, and certainly 10, one tower makes little difference. I agree, I will usually trade one of my towers for one of theirs, certainly if one is more valuable. I find it more useful to increase my range of play than to restrict theirs. Of course, against a better player, that often bites you in the ass.
Never Leave Your Tower! I know everyone knows that defending towers is a vital part of the game; I'm addressing the players who will vigorously defend a lane for 3 minutes, then turn and go shop/ heal, without letting the roamer on their team know that their tower is undefended. This is such a
This isn't a Demigod issue, per se, but I was wondering if any DG players with an ATI 5xxx series card have had any luck fixing the "striped screen" crash? I have looked all over the regular internet forums, and there seem to be a lot of fixes, but no one seems convinced that any of them actually work (one guy swears by it, the next says he tried it and it still crashes, etc.). Anyone out there know of a reliable way to fix this issue? I hate waiting 30 minutes for a balanced DG game
Stupid school connection. Another double post.
Hmm. Nope. Can't be my starkiller. He's way too articulate. This guy was like walrus with thumbs.
This is a long shot but this MAY be a guy who lived on my floor in college. He was epically bad at games, and not that swift in general, and we ended up making some sport of humiliating him. (Trust me he deserved it, he smelled horrible and would sit on your bed, leaving his stink behind, and stay way to close to you all the time, and put his hand on your shoulder or something if he was watching you play. He was unbelievable.) He originally used the name "star" in Diablo, and my roomate made
@ Ke5strel. Thanks. That does help me and probably many others.
Looks like that is just a how-to on loading and viewing them, pacov. I'll look around. Thanks.
Would someone mind taking the time to post a walk-through if one doesn't exist? I found this, but I can't view the pictures at work, so I can't tell if its a good walk through, valid, etc. Take a look: http://forums.impulsedriven.com/364799
Sorry, pacov, that one is just how to load them to watch. I'll look around.
Just an idea, but it might be nice to have a new clean post with the brackets as they develop and as each round passes so players can go to one place to set up their game times and post their wins and losses. This would allow the OP with all the rules to remain up, but give us all one place to see who is playing who, communicate with one another, and post links to our replays. BTW, total noob question, but I have not posted a replay yet. How do we do that? I know it is
Hmm, is that it? Ok, thanks. "Washington, washington, 6 foot 8 weighs a fucking ton..." I haven't watched that in too long.
Just so you know Teseer, I'm basically doing a straight-up rip-off of your build for pacov's tournament. [e digicons][/e] However, I had a question: In your guide, you mention RoI incredible range. I, too, remember being surprised sometimes when I was getting rained on and thought I was out of range. But when I play TB, the range blows, it is no better than FB, maybe even less. What gives? Did something change that I missed 'cause I never play TB? I'm confused.</
I've been playing Oak since the beginning, with occasional experiments with Rook. Now, trying to learn TB (basically by unabashedly ripping off Teseer) for pacov's upcoming tournament, I find one thing frustrating trying to make a transition from one DG to another; I really wish the hotkeys were all assigned by broad "categories" of what they do. I don't have the game in front of me, so forgive any errors I make. But, for example, 4 lays down Oak's banners. When I switch to Rook, it i
Another possibility for the character selection issue would be to add some general choices, at least QoT, and maybe Sed or Occ? That way, if player one is corraled into a certain few DGs, at least player two then doesn't HAVE to choose a general to be competitive. That would make UB and Rook more viable as the second option. Even adding QoT would increase the field of options greatly.
Oops. Double Post
Thanks for organizing pacov. It's good to see some people still take this great game seriously. Also, please, please, please lets keep the (starting) dates during that third week of April. As a teacher, that is school vacation week, and if Cheify and I are going to have any shot against all you top-100 guys, I'm really going to need to be in the groove. [e digicons][/e]
I know that many of the guys already signed up play together a lot, so I'm sure you have your reasons, but as an outsider eager to sign-up, this is my two-cents worth: I agree with Hedgie. Forcing one player to choose DA, TB or Reg essentially forces the other player to choose Oak, LE or UB. And since your teammate has to play an assassin, you pretty much have to play Oak or Erebus. The team that picks first can't risk not playing Oak or LE, in case the other team does, and since they
No, synn, I really wasn't trying to pick on you. As I said, I think it shows what happens when someone who obviously plays a lot, and spends a lot of timie thinking about Demigod (as the fact that you post 3-4 times on EVERY forum proves) tries to play QoT 100% of the time. You lose a lot of games. QoT sucks. She is imbalanced. It is not her fault, or yours. Its SD and GPG. If the game wasn't dying so quickly it would be a bigger deal. Did just sign two of my b
