Yes you will get a printed manual (on a rool of toilet paper ;) ) And yes, I think they are working on converting the manual in to PDF format. ~SDC~
Uhhh... I didin't know of that... :d ~SDC~
Toronto, Canada ~SDC~
yea... maybe in galciv 2 stage ;) ~SDC~
Mutil = Moding Util ? maybe
I would like to hear from other what your opening strategies are? How do you kick off your games most of the times and what aproach do you take in that initial stage of colonization and landgrabing. What tech would you research? Do you go for population boom or tax them good? Lets have it... ~SDC~
man.. I wanted to say FIRST POST :) ~SDC~
"Is Brad going to add an AI that mimics his own style of play - so we can can try to beat him at his own game?" You should have been in the beta to witness the mighty Bradians, the minor race that sometimes concoured the major ones LOL
"I usually only play intelligent on larger galaxies as I would like some chance to win!" LOL soooo very true... travathian you'll just have to wait and see for yourself. I have been playing GC for a while now and have not yet won on Bright AI. I'm working on it, but just for kicks I am going to start a game with all AI on highest AI setting and see how long I will last. I'll let you know. ~SDC~
Yup... 26 is as high as they come me think... and then you upp them with some soil enhancement and habitat improvment and few others and you got yourself a very nice planet :) ~SDC~
From what I see there is a tutorial mode in bonus pack. I will be able to say more about it when it gets released for testing next week.
Well... The "control" is really your approval rating. If your people like you they'll vote for your party. If you care leaching them dry with taxes, well than some other party might win. The bonuses are party specific, for example, Populist party gets +20% diplomacy and morale. You lose the control of the senate, you lose the bonus. ~SDC~
You can not specificaly change those settings. But. The way the AI is programed as it is will suprise you evry single game you play. Not a single game I played felt the same way. One game I was playing good race and had good relations with (evil) Drengin empire and (good) Altarians didn't like me very much, etc etc... ~SDC~
You can play winamp in background... Galciv is very alt+tab friendly IMO... and not a big resource hog either ;) ~SDC~
I'll be honest... I got bored real quick :p Now I just turn it off ~SDC~
Wait till monday than I'll be able to tell you ;) ~SDC~
Or you can research and build Eyes of the Universe which will vastly increase your sensor range. ~SDC~
I agree to an extent about the AI knowing the locations of good planets/resources, but after a while I came up with a good scouting and colonization system that pretty much nullifies AI's advantage.
OK... here is how I start out. It's probably not the best of strategies but here goes. This is usualy wat I do on larger maps (medium and higher) First I adjust my income distribution sliders to 60% military and 20% each on social/research and government expenditures to 100%. I leave my taxes on the default level for now. First ship to build is one scout (takes 2 turns to build) while I send out the starting ships to colonize/explore. As soon as the scout is done I purchase a c
I have heard that they will release a utility (part of bonuspak) that will alow you to put in your own graphics.
OK.. will do. I will try to finish the game tommarow and than send it all at once. I was looking for that post where you left your email but can't find it. What is it again?
Gah.. that second link is broken. here is the proper one http://www3.sympatico.ca/seadk/up1.jpg
