If I could make a simple, humble request: assuming this is the opening of Diplomacy, please don't automatically uncheck the "play video" button every time you open up the game. I enjoy these and they help me get more immersed when I've been away from the game for a little while.
Seconded, I wish the opening cinematic would play each time the game is started, without having to check the box each time

Banned for approving of greed. Money is cool, and it is good to have property, but people are more important than money.
I like the diplomacy of Willis Davidge when dealing with the Raiders to free the Dracs and rescue Zammis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvdKfGrDvAw http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089092/ <param name="allows

I'm gonna have a whole fleet of Akkans. [e digicons]:borg:[/e]
BTW, I'm running a game of the september 30th updated Entrenchment. Works pretty good as long as you use Protevs to colonize and not the Akkans (when playing TEC anyway, haven't tried the others on this update.)
The first game of Sins I played, a 1 vs 1 against the Vasari with them as an easy economist, they also attacked the pirate base. It was on a random small map. I was separated from their sector of the solar system by the pirates. It was after about 12 hours of playing though, while I was still figuring everything out.

I'm just saying I can understand why the initial design didn't take ground based defenses into consideration. This may be something we could look into for the future, but for now diplomatic additions are prob
Chuck Norris is what the Vasari developed in the Kron Research Facility, and they've been running ever since...
Cool video.
I just decided to continue my game I started after the last update and try a different method out. Normally I use the Akkan to conquer and colonize a planetary system, but I decided to use the Protev to colonize rather than the Akkan. When using the Protev, at least so far for the last two planets, none of the resource asteroids have been made unusable. I don't know if all will get the same results, but try using Protevs for colonization instead of the Akkan.
I could imagine a future where space bourne weapons are the natural defense against space bourne threats. I believe that's how it is in universes like Halo, for example. I imagine the trip through the atmosphere alone would cause a lot of logistical problems for ground based weaponry, though I'm no ballistics expert.
There was a guy who designed a supercannon which could launch shells, or other payload, into orbi
I suppose that's of the wrong genre. I don't know how to make that in LOLCats style though...
Granted, however it is in an alternate universe. As for the actual one, be her friend and let her develop feelings for you on her own if she will. I wish the hotfix for the September 30th update was out yesterday and not Monday when I start my second quarter.
Would be nice to be able to set up battles and pick the units you want. Perhaps have it contained in a single gravity well so the A.I. can't run away.
The print screen button basically puts the image of your screen on a clipboard. Not sure of the exact details though. I use a program called GIMP, the gnu image manipulation program, set the pixel width and height to that of the the game, and paste using Ctrl+V. IDK if the computer has a folder for printscreen though. In Glory Of The Roman Empire there was a folder provided by the game, but that was also using its "take snapshot" function and not the built-in function o
Well, technically speaking the Tec race already has them...but you need like level teir 8 to research them
Yes, that causes a few number of rebels to happen upon enemy gravity wells, like said above it is a whimpy number of pirates sent at random basically. Having mercenary defenders is not quite the same as having mercenaries or rebels which go on the offense.
Though this is basically taking an idea from StarHunter 2300, I think it would be interesting if there were bounty hunters to help as a payable defense. They could cost less than the pirates and be on call rather than on a ten minute time limit. They wouldn't have as large a fleet as the pirates, but perhaps they could have more diversity in fleet depending on affordibility. Such as the least expensive bounty hunters would have frigates, more expensive would have crusiers, and the most expens
When I played today, it was one asteroid per gravity which was not able to be used. I thought that I may be some new feature, such as the civilians having their own mining asteroid... however it is a bug and not a feature. If such a type of thing were to be made into a feature, then possibly there should be a tax levied for civilian use of space objects, or something of the sort, so that there could be extra income if you needed it by leasing out an asteroid or a refine
When I bought my computer at Best Buy, they installed Webroot Antivirus and Antispyware. Does anyone know if Webroot is similarly problematic upon exspiration or otherwise?
Tried playing one of the regular SOASE saved games on Entrenchment. Though it no longer says "invalid save file" like it used to, it wouldn't load either and the popup saying "checksum" occured. Oh well. I notice in the updated version that the indigenous populations now have stronger fleets and resource asteroids seem to be taken away from being built upon or used as soon as a planet is colonized.
Ah, well that would be something that could be fixed then. The regular SOASE saved games are no longer invalid after the last update, and that would be on Entrenchment where they are no longer invalid. So, if the saved games for the regular SOASE can be made valid for the Entrenchment SOASE, then so can the saved games for Entrenchement on Entrenchment. I wasn't finished with my last game when I did the update... I suppose I should have updated it after the game is done
Yesterday afternoon, I updated Sins Of A Solar Empire and Sins Of A Solar Empire Entrenchment using the Impulse system. Previously, the saved games from the regular SOASE were listed as "invalid save file" on Entrenchment, but after the update they are no longer invalid. However, now the saved games from the Entrenchment micro are listed as "invalid save file" on SOASE Entrechment. I hope the next update may correct this. -Ben
if Well, if the voltage is small, then the current would be small as well. In the game though, I wonder what may happen if what the Vasari are fleeing from meet up with the TEC or Advent.
