Under 'Position', do you have the 'Reserve edge of screen' option turned on? Because that will grey out those options.

The actual desktop program I use is foobar2000. It's simple, and it works well. That's all I need. For web playing, I generally go with Audiogalaxy. Streams from my music collection at home, no need to upload anything.

I had a similar issue a while back when I had mt TV hooked up by HDMI. Forgot it was hooked up, so when it was off, I was confused as to why some programs weren't showing up. Did a facepalm when I figured it out.
