Does it happen for you with all games, or only certain ones? I know a lot of older games that weren't designed for newer OSs don't change resolutions in a very 'friendly' way, which can wreak havoc on desktop icons...

SFC checks that Windows system files are in their original good condition and that they have not been modified or corrupted. If the sfc scan is reporting that there are system files that are corrupt beyond repair, then the problem lies deeper than SoundPackager.

Has it worked before? Is this a reinstallation? Usually what causes crashes for SoundPackager is bad or corrupt sound themes. Try moving all of them to a temporary location and see if it starts up for you. They're located here: XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\SoundPackager or C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USER NAME]\My Documents\Stardock\SoundPackager Vista/7: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\Sound

At this point, the order has gone through, so you should be able to download it from here: http://download.stardock.com/ As for what caused the delay, it's hard to say after the fact, but most likely, your order was filtered due to our fraud detection measures, which sadly sometimes trip legitimate orders. We then process those manually if they turn out to be legitimate. It doesn't happen often, fortunately.
