Ok, I've dig a bit and now understand why it didn't work on my pc. Actually, if you look at the "inetres.adm" file which contain policies for IE settings and such, you'll notice that the policy is applied at the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Infodelivery\Restrictions I noticed that I didn't had the NoSplash DWORD value in the registry. K Man, I've tried it before sending my post and it didn't work for OE. I've even rebooted the pc since it's a Computer policy and those policies initializes when windows starts (not at user logon). You pc's seems to give you hard time In your XP machine, check if you have enabled the Internet Connection Firewall. You can find it in your LAN settings under the Advanced tab. Since you already use a soft firewall (ZoneAlarm) you *shouldn't* use ICF. Otherwise, you'll be good for a nice configuration headache

Here are some things to take into consideration: 1. IPX will be of no use so don't even bother with it. 2. Are both pc surfing the web at the same time? You talked about a hub and it's impossible to access the Web from both machine at the same time if you use a hub unless you use a router after the hub which will NAT your packets or if you use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Adni18, no you can't go beyond the "physical" resolution of your LCD screen (doesn't work the same way as a conventional CRT screen). It can do lower res but not higher. But, if you have a good enough video card (with enough video ram on it), you should be able to break the 1024x788 barrier by using an external monitor.
