I agree it'd be fun to see the sovs and their proginy get the power to unleash ultimate destruction from their fingertips but right now it acctually feels alot like HoMM, direct damage spells suck but your buffs like flameing weapon and the like are really potent and make it worth haveing somebody that can cast in your stack.

The game isn't really broken anymore, it's at a stage where it just needs to be tweaked a hell of alot. It's still fun in its current state, and perfectly playable now that it doesnt crash every couple of hundred turns.

Fair enough it's not a big disadvantage but it's still a disadvantage.

I've just tried makeing a custom sov again after a few succsseful games with my last one. Is it just me or is it impossible to match the pre-made sov for stats? Takeing Porcipinee as an example, she has all spell books, 8 stength, 8 Dexterity, 15 wisdom, 15 intellect, 15 constitution and 9 charisma. The mediative talent and no weakness's. I can't come anywhere near that. What gives?

How many tech research points do you have? It only take 3 techs in warfare to hit short swords/maces. If you're a little low on points you need to find a library or two and then specialise the city next to them for tech research.

A game shouldn't need to be modded to make it fun. Not that elemental isn't fun, it just doesn't seem to bring that much new to the genre. When i heard about the game i was hopeing for real RPG turn based strategy fusion, what we have right now is a pale shadow of that. Mostly because the RPG element of the game can more or less be ignored with almost no detriment to your chance of winning. Oh and the magic system is far too generic, populous style magic would've been much mor

they do give you an early boost as your sov and the two snetinels can basicly wipeout anything in the wilds until the monsters start getting stronger. Gives you sov a fairly sizable advantage in early XP gain.

In galciv 2 it was fairly easy to play the AI against one another, particularly when playing drath, get AI A to go to war with AI B with a bribe then get B to go to war with C. Generally A and C will team up and destroy B while you profit from the whole thing. I'm sure something similar is possible in elemental but i personally haven't played enough to get to that level of diplomacy yet. Establish trade routes, works in both galciv and elemental, send them a car

By the sounds of your play style you'd be better off not standing alone. Forge an alliance and put up a united front to intimidate your enemies so they dont attack you. Ofcourse there's always the warmonger AI , the drengin empire in galciv... Montazuma in Civ....., but if you don't want to go to war turn them off because dimplomacy isnt an option.

Any 4x game is based upon the idea that you're in open competition with countries lead by imearalistic dictatorship. In other words if you've got something they want they'll take it from you if they see an opportunity. Having no reasonable defence makes you a prime target because as far as they're concerned there's no downside. city would give us +20 gold - good. We can take it without threat of retalliation - excellent, lets go take it. If the A

Ok it doesn't fit the moral code of modern society we have now, but the world view is different in the game. As a soverign of a country, in a land devasted by disaster and low population, it should encourage bearing of offsprings and, polygamy in the old days is the way for the rich and powerful to do just that![/quote] Yeah polygamy happend alot

The AI is still a little dumb, but from what frogboy's said they're working on it. I personally find myself marching in with fairly small armies and wipeing out the AI because it's over extended itself. So far i build cities where there are resources i need and then specialise to make the best use of those resources and so far the AI hasn't managed to conquer a single one of my cities. (this could be due to me teleporting around the map and picking up all my forces like

The AI needs some work, but with the current system i don't see multiplayer being much fun, sov snipeing anyone?

You're immortal but i dont think your kids are I believe it's meant to be one of the fundamental differences between you and your children because where as you can go on forever and just power yourself up to become the ultimate killing machine they have only got a comparatively small portion of time to do some of your kingdoms dirty work.

Hello, i've just started playing a new game on a tiny map with a single enemy. I smashed his one and only city with just my sov and a party of peasants (go melting touch go) and now i'm attacking their sov, i'm killing him twice every turn but his essence isn't going down and i think i'm stuck in a continuous loop. Has anybody else experienced this? Edit: Ahah, nevermind i figured out my problem. The battle was just auto-resolving every time and the game
