Ditto all of the above. KNEW it was my whacked-out PC 'til I found this post/thread. Yesterday blew my hair back! Speed! Right now its real poky. I'm even thinking of reading books again...well, ebooks, anyways. Terminal Man by Chrichton's kinda related to this thread. Tman thanks for the killcookies link. Will try it out when I get the scones. Right now I just got The Beast working o.k. and I think I'll just cool it for a day...

Yes! Hyperdrive, at last ! Thanks SD/WC, whoever's running it all.

Bots! That's all I need! Shiny!? Yeah, I went for it too...this old homebuilt rig's just fine, actually. Runs everything and has plenty of room and speed if I manage it all and dump the crap into my external HD from time to time. But...Christmas I went for the marketing and my inner demons and got a new laptop as the other one died from a spazzed hard drive
I copy what I type on the forum just in case it goes into space, that way I can just paste my message, and try again, ...me too... ?!? I do that when I upload anythin
Yeah I like cats, too...didn't used to care one way or another...this is funny, tho
Roman, So glad you put this up! Gadgets and widgets are, for me, really indispensable now that I've started using them. I'm afraid I've taken them for granted, as I've had Desktop X for so long now. I forget that not everyone knows about them and how the desktop can offer so much information in a practical and even fun way! I constantly use a number of them in my daily PC tasks, sometimes running the system just to watch th
Thanks for the thread, Po', and everyone. Some really impressive input. #28, JK, I will try some of this asap on my 2 borked PCs. What a community!

" virii "...!..lol!..This has been happening to me lately, the last few weeks, glad to see some comments. This main PC is all "whitebox" homebuilt by me so I haven't a clue why. Doesn't happen all the time, just one in five or ten shutdown/restarts, usually after a particularly heavy session of Photoshop-Word/internet cut'n'paste/scanning, etc, to make a t
Thanks for the prayers [edit: The best skinning ever!
*Still getting these**...will wait & see if it's me or you or my local ISP or..?..not a whine, just an observation. With all the site traffic (millions of hits?!) it's a wonder the system works at all. Keep up the amazing, cutting-edge management of it all! *Also, in the last day or so, when I click on a skin, the new page displays a red "You are not authorized to comment..." note below the skin preview even tho I'm logged in...then I hit "c
BX, be well and of strong spirit. You are in our thoughts often. Inshallah! You live in an incredibly beautiful country, unlike any other place I've seen. ...[from a 1960s Chitrali resident and trekker, me!]
Corky O, Thanks for the link! One of my PCs has the staggers, and this is just what I was looking for...for weeks.. ..
Got me, too!
aimzzz, Thanks so much for #5!! The visual addresses a particularly obnoxious recurrence on my PC. Nice to know I'm not the only one. lol! Oh, yes, my name is seldomseen and I'm powerless over skinning and downloading, but thanks to SA I can address my problem and not have to D/L anything a day at a time, er...an hour... er...o.k., I had a slip today and I'm just as
The program is Rainlendar. Have fun
To me, you're BlueDev, that's you, and you're just fine by me. Hang in there, you stand for good things and have a great attitude. Right on, BlueDev!
inquiries with the U.N. to see if this government is in breach of international laws regarding the safety and protection of children. Watching this thread for awhile, and this seems like a huge move in the right direction. Will be interesting to see if there is any response, and what it might contain
