Did msconfig. Stopped winamp from running at startup. Reboot. WB6 now keeps it's clothes on thru a reboot!! Not sure why disabling winamp at startup now allows WB6 to remember its settings. Will futz around a bit more now and then to see if something shakes loose. Thanks, Neil. Thanks, Mike. Great response and ideas on this. WB6 now appears to be happy. As for winamp, I'll poke and pry around there to see what's up. Z, tried Pandora and went back to wmp and then ultimately back to winamp. On

Do you get that winamp message if WB is not running? I set winamp not to run at startup...didn't change the problem...now I'll see if I can set WB6 not to run at startup...
I would be interested to know if you have any custom plugins loaded Not sure, so I probably don't. Only winamp skins I've dl-ed from here and winamp site...three or four.
Just restarted, no winamp set to run at startup, and after bootscreen and logon, first thing showing was desktop, with taskbar white, as shown in shot. Preview pane in wbconfig shows NO taskbar after restart. Start panel unskinned. Uninstalled Sexy by vStyler, reinstalled, now shows taskbar in preview pane again never had a conflict with that and WB nope. I do not select to install the winamp agent, I just ha
Let me set it to not run at startup and see what happens.
Just uninstalled and reinstalled Sexy by vStyler, and it's fine, with skinned taskbar and tb showing in wbconfig preview pane. Maybe just never ever reboot...
What apps do you have running at startup? Now there's a possible clue. Every time I start up, Winamp is set to run, but I get an error saying winamp couldn't find so-and-so dll, and it can't run. I click that away and run winamp from winamp agent icon in systray. Quicktime also runs at startup and I can't find a way of disabling it without uninstalling iTunes for myiPod. Didn't make a difference with WB5.51, though. Everything just started up and ran as
Is there anybody still out there... Just us folks... Still got the bug, too. Running WB6 for a day, now, reboots half-a-dozen so far, then, just now got the same-old same-old: Sexy, by vStyler, reboot and no taskbar skinned and NO taskbar in wbconfig preview...?! Hoping it was a one-time burp. Hoping. <img src="http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g155/42n8k9/WB6p
The man who makes it all work. Thanks!
Best wishes from frostback country
XP with no issues at all Simply backed up my WB skins [just in case] .... Day 2; zero defects noted. Now to fool around with settings and see what this thingamagig'll do here...let's see, if I push that...and this... whoowah! WB6!!
skins for XP are are located under C:/Documents and Settings/ALL users/Documents/Stardock/windowblinds
Now THAT'S what I needed! Thanks!!
The design doesn't call for a user icon.
aha! So far, excellent, reboots and all, 2nd day. Still sniffing for glitches, beer-bumps and whiskey-crunches...none. Runs like a new Beemer. Thanks, everyone who had a hand in
Meccano is supreme! When I was a kid, the only place you could find it here was F.A.O. Schwartz in NYC. Had Erector brand m'self.
Yup. AOK here so far... Rebooted and no probs...waiting thru a couple of more reboots b4 I say the glitches are solved for me. Now to find all the new tricks and options!
Zubaz wonders how long it'll take before the pirates start showing up asking for help.
Happy just to be in the boat, with an oar.
"Dingos are Australia's wild dog, thought to have been brought from Asia by visiting boats, or perhaps with the Aborigines" Get the fool humans outta there, man. Leave all those places for the wildlife. If we'd get our shiite together, we'd be colonizing planets instead of whacking eath other and whatever's in reach. There. So. [Mebbe oughta save that stuff for Day of the Elderly only... no
Great news! With some trepidation as to lost or misplaced skins and unskinned taskbar, etc....here goes... Will let you know how it all runs. Back soon. Thanks!!
stunning Pretty close to being as it was 500 years ago. Filter your drinking water, though. Check this out: over the summer and spring, so far this year, 30 bears have been killed on the highways here. Seven bear attacks on people, some just stepping out of their homes. Big "shooter bull" ranches where they raise elk to have folks fly in and shoot something. The innards are thrown on a "scrap pile" and the grizzes love it so they all come around. Some pe
Yes. Good news indeed. That is why I suggest removing WB, rebooting, and in fact it would be best if you deleted the entire skins directory. That way any bad security attributes will be removed. I seem to recall someone else with a similar issue found their problem was with their taskbar overrides settings. Because of this I am going to suggest you open regedit and delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\WindowBlinds That is assuming you are comfortab

Again... watch after your babies.. no matter how tough they think they are and do anything you can to fight violence \ abuse in your immediate surroundings I'm a single dad with a 12-yr-old daughter and 10-yr-old son. I tend to be overprotective, but at the same time let them go new places without me, with friends and trusted adults. The bottoms of my feet crawl when I think about someone doing such a thing as this. Good to hear he's on
Just checking in. Wondering how it's all going. Sending a lot of thoughts your way. Daily and more.
beautiful Spring long weekend......90F today...... Snowed an hour yesterday afternoon. 30 deg. nites, 60 days. Seem to be putiing in more couch-time. Fattening up for a nap...'til March. Day of the Elderly? Yep. Sounds about right from here.
