You seem to have ignored my question completely or perhaps forgotten in which case I appologize but I've just spent $50 on a game I had the impression that I'd be able to play. Any help would be appreciated.

I just updated my video drivers to the newest version and have toyed around with different combinations of disabling crossfire, AA etc in catalyst all to no avail

I just got a better one here actually... The screen went black and stayed that way and I had to Alt F4 out of it... I noticed that myself before I sent it... I've created several debugs and they all terminate normally after it freezes & unfreezes for a while, there's no "Please Tell Microsoft About This Problem" the program is just frozen one second, then it turns black and after a few seconds it's back on the desktop though it reduces desktop resolution to 1024X768 until I change it back. Hey, I've just purchased Gal Civ II and it freezes on startup, The Intro movie plays, and the background moves like it's supposed to at the main menu for a second and then it freezes for a couple of seconds, It then either unfreezes for a split second before freezing again or crashes.
