As far as I have seen, Vasari fighter squadrons no longer use phase missiles but use beam weapons instead. Looks rather cool if you ask me, and should help reduce their effectiveness. Bombers still use phase missiles though. Also I noticed the Vasari Rebel titan doesn't use a lot of phase missiles, it has other weapons that deal more damage than the phase missiles.. Hope that answers your question a little bit.
But the opposite question... "What of Trinity meshes/textures" in Rebellion?" What about the old old Beta Kol, Marza and other oldies? What then?
I don't see how unused content could do any harm to the dev's. I say why not?
This is just an idea and values, cool down times etc can all be tweaked for balance.
[e digicons]k1[/e] to that sir.
To be honest I haven't experienced this problem myself. I was merely stating that a friendlyplayer should not be able to target other allies with any offensive weapon whatsoever.
The jump texture runs less smooth because it is quite a 'heavy' animation, compared to most other effects in the game.
Every faction can only have one Titan built at any given time. Having multiple titans would be insanely overpowered so that's why it is limited to one for each player. At the moment it is possible to build multiple titans at once though (up to a maximum of 8 titans in total). If you build multiple titan factories (one factory per gravity well) and start building all titans at the same time, you can have more than one titan in the game.
We have to wait for the next patch I guess. THough I doubt whether the AI will be much better then, since the dev's mainly focus on fixing bugs at the moment.
Not that ripping stuff out of the beta or the finalized product would make any difference...
The ship whatever it goes down or up, the circle thing stays the same (sometimes far above the ship, sometimes below the ship when is it flying up!)
The Akkan targeting effect was not displayed correct on some ships in Trinity either. This might indeed be the right time to fix it.
I have also noticed that certain AI types don't want to complete Envoy missions. Though most of the time the AI players do exactly what I ask of them. I have no clue what AI types don't listen and which types do, for I also play with random AI behavoirs only...
Why not make some of the asteroids around the planets, have the moon textures... and just make them the mining resource..? I was always wondering why there are asteroids around planets and not moons in the gravity wells.... just my .02 cents...
Something like this should actually be doable. Though an extractor on a moon would look a bit weird. The extractors should be scaled down if this was implemented. But it would be an easy way to solve
I would love to have a pewter Progenitor class Mothership. It's just so iconic! [e digicons]:smitten:[/e] A pewter Orkulus class Starbase would also be nice though... [e digicons][/e]
Well, the question is, how SHOULD it work? I remember being able to alter the time and exact amount of ressources etc. for the mission in diplomacy.
If this doesn't work anymore than there is definitely something not the way it is supposed to be. I don't issue missions often, only ask the AI to send me some evnoys every now and then.
As a matter of fact, phase missiles look differently in Rebellion, i found out, when i was attacking the missile platforms at occupation planet. I think both types of missiles look whole lot better than they looked in previous games, so i would keep it as it is.
I second this. The phase missiles look indeed a lot different now. Also, the old missile effect sucked up huge loads of CPU usage. This lighter effect does it's job just fine.</p
I don't see the problem here. With me it functions just the way it should.
I'm sorry I didn't know that sir! [e digicons]:S[/e]
The Corvettes are actually able to target strike craft already. At least they did in the single player games that I played. I use them a lot, to be honest. Kinda like that they are cheap and they seem to be quite effective in keeping the rest of the fleet alive since they draw all the enemy fire most of the time.
If you play with 'Capital Planet Victory' enabled, the AI will actually do send pirate raids towards your planets. Don't think they pay for pirate raids until very late during a game though, when this victory condition is disabled. The dev's still have a lot of work to do concerning the AI, but I trust that in the end Rebellion will turn out to be a charm of a game. [e digicons]:inlove:[/e]
You are better with giving heavy cruisers another role since they don't seem to have much use for now.
Heavy cruisers can do a tremendous amount of damage when used in groups and can take down a capital ship in moments. I don't think they are useless at all. I agree that adding yet another ship class would be rather pointless. We basically have a good counter for everything at the moment (except for titans maybe). Adding yet
I got a working mod that enables the other races, but if I would share it here I would probably get banned...
I wonder once I get steam, install rebellion etc. Can I use single player without an Internet connection or does steam require you to be connected to the Internet when starting a game?
You can play singleplayer in offline mode, though this does require you to save your steam account details.
Maybe if you lower the quality of your ship effects you will see an increase in FPS. That would make the jump effects less pretty to look at though...
lol I don't think so. Space Ponies is just a trololol achievement thrown in by the dev's as a way of thanking all the playtesters of the Vanilla Sins beta for their help. No point in adding a special ability it I guess.
