This looks good.
That may be THE craziest thing I've ever seen on this site.
Tell me about it. So many windows... And the process was running in the background, even after I closed each and every one of them. I had to force a shutdown from th
It works perfectly. Thanks, guys! Peter, make sure you copy ALL the files from the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Windowblinds directory to whichever partition\folder you choose after you edit the registry and before you reboot. Otherwise, it works perfectly.
Sweet! Thanks, guys! I'll fix it tonight when I get home and let you know. It's much appreciated.
I'd like to relocate the skins elsewhere, thanks. I understand the reasons, but for me and my situation, I'd rather have them elsewhere.
Well, I've got 6.0 installed, but I'm not happy... Hankers, I'm using the stand-alone version. My subscription to Object Desktop lapsed and I never renewed it, since really, I just used Windowblinds anyway. It's cheaper for me, IMHO, to use just the standalone version. I made sure Stardock Central was uninstalled and deleted the left over files on my system. I then went in and found the duplicate files and deleted them. Rebooted, downloaded a new copy of the installed and r
Around 11AM Eastern today, I started the upgrade from WB 5.5 to 6.0. It's nearly 5:30PM Eastern, and it's still going on. The problem is with the "moving" of skins from one directory to another. Maybe it's me, maybe it's my system because I don't have Windowblinds installed on the C: drive. (I never install applications, if I can help it, to C:. Even running XP, my C: drive is no bigger than 4GB, and I only use half of it. Since I started the install this morning, I
The Unforgettable Glenn Miller. What can I say? I've got a thing for Big Band...
Well said, my friend. Well said. Even though I no longer go there...Happy Birthday, DeviantArt.
he only thing that really sucks about this is 2-3 years down the line....when you install a new PC and have to wait 4 hours for all the Windows Update patches to come down. Good point. As it stands right now, we've slipstreamed SP2 into our XP install CD, but even with that, there's a good 50+ updates now to be installed. Also, what happened to the announcement that they were going to "fast-track" Service Pack 1 for Vista, and have it ready for
I just don't think it's right that everyone has adopted the "we must look like Microsoft to beat Microsoft" philosophy. Look at e-mail clients these days. They're all Outlook clones. Now we have to have Linux look like Windows to be effective? Whatever happened to the concept of function over form? Of course, I still have WindowsBlinds running on my XP box, but that's not important here... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
Actually, it's happened before. There've been several excellent applications created by smaller companies that have been bought out by larger corporations, and those great apps have been either become bloated pieces or dung or completely dumped. And did you go to Sysinternals website yesterday? It was so slow...I think everyone else had that idea. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"
This is terrible news. Sysinternals' freeware apps are some of the best out there, and ERD Commander has saved my butt more times than I care to count. Now they've been assimilated by Microsoft. Wonderful news. Joy of joys. I'd better make sure I've got the latest GOOD versions of Process Explorer, et al, before Microsoft screws them up. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/SadAngry.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"
Thanks. My "love life" is on hold now for various reasons, but there's always the hope of someday...
Story of my life. Thanks.
About a year ago, I lost my best friend. I met her back in college, lo those many moons ago. She was one of those people who, when you met her, you liked her instantly. She had that aura around her, an open, friendly, pleasant personality that just drew you in and made you feel comfortable. I'd be lying if I didn't s
After playing with the first beta, I was unimpressed. The second beta will have to be vastly improved before I'd consider upgrading. As for the UI...it does nothing for me. Sorry.
Speaking as someone who's also beta-tested Vista, I must say...I don't like it in the least. Sure, the GUI looks beautiful, but it lacks the basic functionality (especially in the folders view of Explorer) that all previous versions of Windows had. I love the Folders view: The fact that I can't duplicate that in Vista is extremely annoying. Put simply, Vista continues Microsoft's continued attempts to "dumb down" the OS: Make thi
Actually, I figured it'd be easier to watch the commercials online anyway.
Don't look at me. I'm from Pittsburgh and I didn't watch it.
There are usually some good commercials that come out of the Super Bowl, but the majority of them can be found on the web these days.
So, yeah, the Steelers won. Big whoop. I said I wouldn't watch the game, and I didn't. Still, it's good for the city, I suppose. Might help make folks feel better about themselves. But I swear, the first idiot who comes up to me and says "we won!", I might just have to go postal on their ass...<!-- Ju-An
I gotta agree...it's nice to see this. Puts the most popular skins for the last month in one place. I hope you do it again.
Amen to that! I was looking for that earlier..thought I had that on CD at home. Thanks for sharing this!
Your points are well taken. Maybe I'm just the low-key, quiet one.
