This is not a review blog. I am not a professional critic, nor have I ever claimed to be one. I'm just a guy who loves music in all its forms. Whenever someone asks "what kind of music do you like", it's very hard for me to answer because, well, I like just about everything. Name a style, and I've probably listened to it at one point in my life. For the record, I dislike digital downloads unless it's an incredibly high quality bitrate. Given the c

"Onestar" came from a D&D character I played back in college (YEARS ago). When I got my first full-time job back in '92, I needed to pick a login name. Folks have a tendency of misspelling my last name, so I picked "Onestar". It's stuck with me ever since.
It could be a hardware issue or a video driver issue. Have you updated your video drivers to the latest stable release? Have you downloaded and run a memory testing program (I highly recommend memtest86+) Have you tried, as someone suggested, booting safe mode, or at least VGA mode, and see if the system will boot that way?
Let me just say...very cool. I like it.
I was sitting in my chair late last night, flipping around, looking to see if there was anything decent on after The Graham Norton Show (on BBC America) ended. Didn't see like the usual fare of news, sports or (Heaven help me) reality shows, and wasn't tired enough to call it a night. Landed on IFC where they were showing Waiting for Guffman. Now, I love good improv, and I love the ensemble of the Guest/Levy movies (Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, etc.) and although I'd let t
*clap*
I've still got some of Dangeruss' stuff lying around here...
*sniffs the air* Hmm...smells rather interesting. I sense something to do with April 1st, if you ask me. ;)

The party was today. It was a good time. My whole family was out there, which I know made The Kid happy. Saw a tear or two on her cheek. Had a talk with the nurses out there about her pacemaker and the appointment they made for her with her old cardiologist. Seems someone told them that I was out in California, and that's why they didn't call me. Now, even if I was out there, I'd still have my cell and if I didn't have the information with me, I could've gotten it pretty quick.<br
Oh. My. This is really cool.
Well, I joined back in October of 2002, but because it was soooo long ago, I don't remember why. Probably was looking for wallpapers, found Windowblinds, and stuck around. :)
Has it been seven years already? My, my, my...you hardly look the age! Why, if I had to venture a guess, I'd say you're barely three. Here's to a great seven years, and to many, many more! :CONGRAT:
I voted no, but really, I don't care. I just come here for a few specific categories, and that's all. Which brings up a suggestion. I love that I can "edit" my gallery choices, so I don't have the long list of skins out there that are available to me. Since I don't use more than half of them, it's a nice feature. What I'd like to see, if possible, is a way to save that "list", since I'm a subscriber, and whenever I login on another machine (I view Wincustomize at work, at home, and on m
It's been awhile since I've posted an update on My Kid. (For those of you who don't know what I'm referring to, check my archives.) Really, there wasn't much to tell. She's been pretty good...no infections (which is surprising), no major problems. The flu was going around out at the nursing home, but I think she missed out on the worst of it. &
Already downloaded, already using and already loving it! :D
It's been over a year and a half since I've posted anything to this blog. Wow. I'll admit, it's been awhile since I'd written here. I had another blog (over at Blogger) I was using as my primary venting outlet. The world (well, my friends) knew to look for me over there. It was nothing against JoeUser or Wincustomize or any of the Stardock folks. They've been good to me, and their service has always been excellent. I
This isn't DA, and as so many others have said, the last thing I'd want is for this place to become another DA. (No worries, I've no intention of starting another DA rant...my feelings are well know, and if you don't, ask me elsewhere.) I rarely submit wallpapers, but when I did, I was surprised to not see it in the main page, but did find it in my personal gallery. Took a little looking, but I found out why...and I was fine with it. I'll support going back to the old way of doing things
Ugh. But I guess it'd be nice to have the option. :)
Yeah, it is nice. Quick and convenient way of switching between themes. I use mine with CursorXP all the time. :)
Still no system tray icon?
Okay, I might've missed this while I was searching the forums. If I did, I'll apologize in advance. I love the wallpaper manager in WB, but is there a way to have different wallpapers on different displays? I've got two displays in front of me, and I was wondering if this can be done, and if so, am I missing it? Thanks, kids.
Hmm. I downloaded it and installed it on a test machine. Kinda miss the icon in the system tray. Be nice if it were back. When I doubled-clicked two themes to install them, they didn't show up. Hmm. I'll play with it a little longer, but since I'm not migrating to Vista anytime soon, I'm likely to just stick with XP...
My feelings on DeviantArt are well known. I don't need to go into them again. I left there some time ago. I used to drop in to visit with old friends I made there, and I made more than a few, but today? I don't go back. It's listed at 50 Million, but I'm wondering if they are including items that have been deleted (in as much as anything's ever truly deleted from their servers). I'd rather just congratulate Jark and Matteo for having the vision to create DA. I'm just sor
I gave up on DevArt when Scott was backstabbed
Ah, there's a familiar voice. Thought I recognized that login. True. Since Jark was forced out of DA, and even before to be honest, that place has been neither good nor relevant.
WinCustomize is the premiere skinning site today. DeviantArt used to be a good site, but their focus changed some time ago. I wouldn't even consider them a "skinning" site these days. In fact, I won't even go to "dAt" other place anymore, and I was there for a long, long time. If I'm looking for a skin or a wallpaper, I come here. Period.
