as a reference Cpu should run @100% when you're using (or loading) an active app and should run @ approx.5% when idle. If you're getting close to that you're fine Some programs reset when you run another program(IE messenger and MSN Explorer is a good example..thanks Bill Gates) I don't think you have any gremlins in your machine. With a 1.8 Intel and a gb of mem. you should be humming right alone. <img src

mem. install must be fine if it shows it (would have fried if you hadn't) CPU rdg @ 100 usually means some app. running in bkground. Open taskmgr and see what apps. are running (sysmetrix should be one) Disable any apps. 1 by 1 until your cpu drops. The app that drops your reading is the CPU hog. If the reading of 100 is correct (and I will assume it is) your CPU Die temp is running very high...not good

had a problem with objectbar myself...unload OB and see if that corrects problem. At least if it does you'll have a better idea where the problem is

make sure you check "use windows welcome screen' in user accounts (control panel)

anybody have problems with wincus.(in or out of IE) and Zonealarm pro with privacy enabled..1st thought it was popup problem but it works in Netscape. Since IE is default I had to find answer. I disabled privacy in zonepro and all was fine right up to where the pop-ups started. Downloaded Guard-IE pop-up software and everything works. Go figure. It's got to be a script problem in zonepro, but I can't put my finger on it. I sure can't put up with those pop-up ads and I really don't want to buy Gu
