It sounds like the Paintshop pro installer didn't correctly associate the app with editing files.
It's 20 years old, so maybe. I do see this as more of a windows 10 issue though, you can change what a file is opened with from the context menu directly, but you can't change what it is edited with at all. It shouldn't be up to individual applications to set that.

I currently have all image files opening with painshop pro, but there is no option for changing the 'edit' option. So images files 'edit' with paint, but 'open' with whatever you set 'always open with' as.
Ah, ok. It's using paint :-( Google isn't helping much at changing the 'edit' association... [edit] Found something... from https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/changing-default-edit-program/ea0f37df-ffed-4b78-8d14-f6e837d1f111
<span style="font-family: 'Segoe UI', Seg
Quick question, is it possible to change which image editor is used when editing a theme? I can't seem to find an option anywhere... thanks.
Opening an html file associated with chrome also opens a second tab with ' http://--disable-windows10-custom-titlebar/' win10 ver 19041.329 chrome Version 83.0.4103.116 (Official Build) (64-bit)
It was working fine until a couple of days ago. Then suddenly one applications icon just wont stay changed.
Windows 10. It only seems to have happened recently. After more experimenting it seems to only happen with one application, which is weirder.
I have an odd issue with object dock. When I set a custom icon for an application it reverts back to the original when object dock is restarted. Can anyone give me any clue as to why this might happen?
It breaks regardless. Also, I do believe the OP is not using undocumented explorer options and is having the same issue. Which shows the issue is down to WB doing something wrong, not explorer. The ONLY fix that I have found to work, is exiting WB and reloading. For anyone interested, http://rammichael.com/7-taskbar-tweaker to 'always on bottom' the taskbar, and <a href="
I don;t know if SD are actively working on objectdock or not, but I have a couple of suggestions... 1. Mouseover image. Don't get me wrong, the effects are good, but a hover image would be nice also. 2. Option to show/hide from alt-tab switcher. (for when always on top doesn't work). Is there any likelihood of these getting implemented? Neil.
I wouldn't mind giving this idea a shot, however google is completely useless at finding legit old versions of software.
Oh, that's objectdock, I'm using a couple of explorer hacks to have the taskbar always on bottom (doesn't ALWAYS work, but most of the time it does) and to hide the taskbar icons.
I don't have start 10 installed, although I did have the demo for a [very] short time. Single monitor, here is a quick screenshot of my desktop... The skin is currently "The Captain" by danioc, but it happens with all skins.
This has started happening to me. The start button and search box are skinned, then it's just transparent along until the systray ^ icon then transparent again then the 'show desktop' button is skinned again. Any fixes?
I'm using it, It's working just fine. Although I do keep getting an invisible icon that when clicked launches a couple of random windows apps, usually shop and settings. Other than that though, it works just as well as in previous windows versions. (Although I don't use the tabbed dock, so I can't comment on that).
