Alright I created a test account and the game no longer logs out of steam and appears to be working normally again. This is promising but I'm not going to delete my accounts especially on my main PC and have to recreate links, profiles, etc. just to play this game and switching users is a bit inconvenient. This has not happened with any other title including SoaSE. Your suggestion implies this is an issue which while maybe uncommon, has popped up before. Is there a user spec

Thx for the reply. No it does not. All files failed to validate so it basically redownloaded and installed the game but still doesn't stay connected to Steam. Retry login fails and trying to sync mods will just hang at the syncing screen and never progress. I even did an uninstall and then a registry edit and removed all GalCiv3 references from the HKLM, Users and CurrentUsers branches and then a fresh install. Version 2.8 still runs fine on my other PC but I would like to explore

Alright this is a big puzzle so let me get to it. First let me state that I have the base game, 3 DLC's and the Merc expansion. I have GC3 installed on 2 PC's and a laptop which have all played it in the past and had existing game directories. I fired up the game 2 or 3 weeks ago on my HTPC. I updated to ver 4.2 and I had no issues whatsoever but noticed I wasn't getting credit towards Honorary Stardockian achievement and after perusing the forums decided to roll back to ver

Stay away from the NVidia 310.xx drivers for that 560Ti too. I have same vidcard and had to rollback to 306.97 . Got huge stuttering/choppiness even on single player, on another PC as well with a 550Ti so it's definitely a driver issue.

Aresiv is correct in his assessment of how develpers target the market. LOL - His last comment is hilarious! As for Sins hiiting the 32 bit wall, I only recently became aware of this. I too have a high-end rig with a heavily overclocked i7-3770K (single 1200p monitor only) and run into major lag in large late game scenarios against multiple A.I. I used to play Supreme Commander back on Windows XP with 4 GB RAM (3.25 usable) and there was a utility released by a mod

Good idea Yarlen. I posted in their forum today. Looks like we're not alone. Choppy performance reported with more than just Sins...

Updated to 310.90 from 306.97 and Sins got really choppy/stuttered. Started FRAPs and saw fps swing wildly and at much lower levels than usual, even drop below 20. Rolled back driver, restarted and FRAPS lists fps 50-200+ . Hardware: i7 3770K @ 4.6 GHz, 8GB 1866 DDR3, GTX 560Ti, OCZ Vertex 4 SSD, 24" LCD 1920X1200; Win7 Pro x64 . Also tried with Lucid Logix VirtuMVP disabled/enabled to troubleshoot (which had no problems on 306.97) with no success.
