I do understand, I really do. But SINS doesnt need to be "bigger", its fricking huge already, you just cant access that hugeness without encountering enough lag to make CIV 5 look like a finely tuned machine... Just make it better :) I mean seriously, its the only game of recent years that could actually get away with adding nothing but multicore support and a graphics engine polish, then slapping a sticker saying "sins 2" on the box and we would all flock to buy it with pleasur

Now, don’t get me wrong here as I love SINS, and I love Ironclad for the work they have done, and regardless of what I say next, I will be a loyal supporter of Ironclad for many years to come. I’ve praised SINS since the first day I bought it and I loved the expansions, and true, a small part of me is happy to see another expansion and such dedication to the title. But, unless you’re planning to really rip up the game core, your never ever going to get
this was done on $500.000 ??? your kidding? with regards to CPU, I tried that yesterday, locked it off the core 3 and gave it realtime priority... lets just say it didnt like it very much. although this was with a game loaded in so i will retry from the start up screen. I tried lowering the graphics but that made no difference :( although i have manually increased the fleet i havent se
Unfortunately with Sins & entrenchment, You do not have that simplicity. the makers of the game set it up that u have to put any MODs under a super-secret Doc&setting filing, that is secret and confusing to say the least! NO, actually, i want to be very blunt here. IT SUCKS!!!! ITS STUPID & IDIOTIC in the extreme!!!!!! T
What I have to say is confusing is that you find this confusing at all? every OS for the last decade has had a c:\docu
Hi all, I posted the other day that the game is of rock solid construction and i was most impressed and I still am... but... I am trying to complete a 108 planet map against six A.I.s, ive had to double the fleet size manually to hold down such a vast expanse, the problem is that now that my empire has expanded to some 50+ worlds and I have maxed my fleet (as has the A.I. presumably)i get a seven second pause every fifteen seconds.
ive been playing a giant game for some 30 hours now, just left it runnning on my pc. last night i shut it off and today have reloaded he game and the colour of space has changed ??? it was a black space with a kind of green hue, abit like some form of borg space or some such, now its bright bright blue and looks like a bright starry sky ?? its way too bright for my eyes and makes it difficult to see certain things, any way to change this via coding?
Quoting Allegiance86, reply 271As said before, you have nothing IN game to prove its Network. Its just an opinion based on the ominious idea of it being the future! What were you responding to here? This has been dormant for 2 weeks!!!
it was my fault... im new to the game and found this, just dropped in my own comment.
The Daity Noodle. All hail his noodly appendage.
why on earth did they not code for at least two cores... that just seems... well.... dumb?! for want of a better word. but then im not a programmer and I realise it could also be hugely complicated, I have no clue. alass mines no i7, its a good old Q6600 at 3Ghz.
First, quad core won't help, sins is single core software iirc.
surely not... dual cores have been around since 2004, quad since 2007, this game came out in 2008, i would expect it to make decent use of at least two of the cores surely? failing this, I am overclocked quite a chunk so that should help I guess. my thanks to you both for the info... :)
The Deadly Nipple.
lo all, :) im new to the game, im playing my first at present (on my 28th hour... !) and I have a question... is there a game file i can edit somewhere to increase the fleet size beyond the "large" fleet size? Im trying to hold down fourty worlds here against six rather angry A.I.`s on a 108 planet map, Ive got the computing power for it with a quad core and dual 4870`s and a healthy 8 gig of ram, but i need mooooooore ships!! iv
yeah, even if i criticize Sins and its IA behavior quite often, it remains the best Real Time space game ever (and yes, better than the homeworld saga). I am really looking forward for what you Ironclad guys are going to do next.
nooooo. as good as homewrold I said, and that is indeed high praise. there has yet to be one better than the homeworld series. perhaps ironclad will manage that feat with a

I have absolutely no idea if the people responsible for this game view these forums but I`ve been so impressed I just wanted to drop a note here. I missed out on sins at launch and to be honest only found out about it through a friend, I`m abit of an RTS nutt thanks mainly to Total Annihilation back in 1997 and have pretty much tried every major RTS created since then, so im not entirely sure how I missed this one but you have my embarrassment and apologies...
