Halo! Then Splinter Cell.
Somebody on another forum was talkin about Style XP and posted screenshots. I immediately wanted to use it and then sombody else mentioned Windowblinds and linked to this site. I found out that Style XP was a hack and WB was not. I searched through this site and the rest is history.
Also, make sure to name the folder exactly the same as the main background .bmp. I just got done formatting and for some reason with SysMetrix 2, there is a nice sized white block in the top left hand corner with the Transilvania skin . First time using Sysmetrix 2 and it seems to be only with this one although it's the only one I downloaded and the others are the default available theme

About 6 months. I just lost my backup drive (for unknown reasons and among many other current problems) and am in the process of backing up again and then formatting. Though I hope my pc can last that long; expecting a failure anytime soon .

I'm on a 750 AMD, GeForce2 and the only thing pretty new is my 80 gig drive; warranty is out. About 1 1/2 weeks ago I lost my backup drive with 8 gigs of backups and a cd-rw drive. The cable looked like it was on fire or there was a charge. My pc just suddenly shut down; was having mouse problems. I'm havin 100% cpu usage problems and recently booted up in 4 bit mode . Put all your zips, skins, etc. on a (data) cd. Copy the zips from the cd to you hard drive (temp. folder) on the new pc (or if it's an .exe just run it from the cd) and reinstall it and then just copy the skins in the respected folder. You're lucky: I hope I can get everything off mine before it fails. Dunno, sooooo many problems lately . Not being able to boot up recently.
depends how the person converted mp3, as you can make MP3's alot better than cd quality Doomgaze is correct. CognitoToo, how much do you think studio monitors go for? Not cheap. Still, about under/amost a grand a piece which isn't that expensive when takin high end, but expensive for the average person. You are again mentioning errors. I never said anything about errors. The fact is, listen to something @ 128 bitrate on any average system and then on a high/higher end system. And again, depending on the quality of the encoding software, the 128 bit track will fall short in any cas
About your second part: I meant is somebody wants or hears about an album, instead of listening to a few songs and then buying the cd like you have stated, half if not the majority will just get the album from Kazaa and not buy it.
Have I listened to and heard the differences? Yes and on a very nice setup. With 128, you can have more of a compressed sound and can really suffer highs. Like I said, it really depends on the quality of the encoding software. The differences on a pair of pc speakers might not be all that noticeable, but on a quality setup and with a god ear it wil be there. If only planning to listen to it on your pc, 128 is fine. But in your car or home theater/system, 192 or above to me

^^^^ It that ain't the truth. But it depends on how you and what you use to encode it and the source of the rip. Also, a higher bitrate doesn't always equal better quality.
Well CognitoToo, I'll just say as many people as you can name that bought because of Kazaa and whatnot, I can name just as many who haven't. I'll bet half, if not the majority, will get it from Kazaa instead of buyin. BTW, 128 sucks.
Well this can go into DJing: Make a mix or blend and distribute or sell it. Many lables are for it and it gets the word out. If it's all mainstream, well then you're really not helpin the industry. But on the other hand, you can get the word out on somebody/group that's not that well known and then if you're interested, you're gonna wanna pick it up. It has been shown to increase sales.
Well this is interesting: With Kazaa recently, you had a user level which shows the level of your sharing. The RIAA could easily use that info as a real easy way to find out who is sharing the most.
