Old Impulse purchase in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Hi, I decided to install Gal Civ II on my recently purchased laptop, and I purchased it on Impulse, which became Gamestop. Apparently gamestop has stopped allowing people to download games already purchased on the platform. Does anyone else have this issue and a workaround on how to obtain your copy? Should I play Dread Lords first, or the expansions in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

I recently upgraded GCII with the two add-ons, and I really have not played much with the game. Would it be better if I play the basic game and once I learn the ropes, go with the add-ons, or just go with the add ons in the first place?
