this is akin to a five-year-old whining at a lifeguard for telling him he can't swim in the deep end. in both content and attitude. you'll get the same thing in age of empires, warcraft, and any other team-based strategy game you find.

this is great. really. i'm not a fan of GPG at all, but stardock is doing great things by making them stick to the game and improve it. i know a lot of people have blamed stardock for game-related issues, but this post makes it very clear that you're doing everything possible to make this game a good one.
they could make a sequel. they made a sequel to dungeon siege, and DS1 was...well...yeah. you have to consider, though, that the sequel was a weak attempt at a diablo 2 clone that still includes game-ruining bugs to this day. so demigod 2 might sound great in theory, but it would most likely be a repeat of the same failures for which GPG is well known.
that's disappointing, and goes to show what he thinks of the game. he didn't even qualify the comment, or mention that it was a commercial failure because of awful programming that still hasn't been entirely fixed. you can't be an independent developer and also suck. you can only afford to suck if you're microsoft.
i am on a wireless network. and i think i figured it out. the rest of my family was doing taxes online while i played. could that be the problem?
i just got out of a ridiculous game that involved me spiking 1500-2500 for about 3/4 the game. this has *never* happened before. i turned off my browsers (which are usually open), and was running nothing but demigod. and yet...on a dsl connection, it wouldn't stop lagging. what could be causing it?
call him kitty.
the worst part about reg is when they actually end up getting kills with their snipe - like ALL the kills - and still don't buy anything for the team. i was in a game last night with a guy who obsessively snipe-stole every kill, and yet he never had enough to get reinforcements. what was he buying? i don't know. maybe saving up for a condo on the beach. but then he made the mistake of thinking he was worth something because of his fancy items, he engaged the enemy, and he died. three or four
the problem is that the games take between a half hour and an hour to complete, so if you immediately discover one of your teammates isn't good enough to compete with the opponents, it doesn't mean an instant loss. instead the game drags out for a half hour while the enemy builds up enough to take you out.
so the half price coupon lets you buy demigod for $19.95, which is about double what you would pay for it on half.com or amazon.com. not to mention the retail price for the game is around $19.95 anyway. ... got a code for me?
it really is disappointing...i mean, you see games like diablo 2 still getting *huge* patches 10 years after being released, and then there's this. i figured this was going to be one of those games like diablo, at least until the release of oculus. i, for one, am grateful for any updates the game gets, for better or for worse. if it's for worse, you can always fix it or revert the game to a previous update. it's amazing how far this game has come from its shaky beginnings, and it's to
how about items that, by having them, will allow you to escape certain things? example: a token that prevents you from being stunned. it gets used after a stun attempt fails. or...items that decrease the total effect. example: a ring that lowers speed reduction by 5% forever. so 25% would be 20%. or it could be a ring that lowers speed reduction by 20% of the total value, so 25% slow would be 20%, or 50% would be 40%.
the names all sound too majestic/awesome for my liking. how about buzzards?
yeah, the kind of DA i fear is warp+range+swap, with a speed boost. the passive line is really kind of worthless. i've tried playing warp+range vs range+passive and warp+passive, and the two attack moves are so much better than the passive line it's not even funny.
yeah, sorry about that. it must have been gubbel or whatever. i just remembered nom and made the connection to py4eek.
i told you, i didn't know for sure. i just remembered that you were in the game and that you were complaining about a desyncher. at least now, we know it may have been gubbel.
it's always difficult to balance, especially when you set a standard such as the "big three." i played a game a while back, called warlords battlecry 3, and the gamers got ahold of development stuff and tried to balance it. they ended up getting it fairly decent, but at the same time completely convoluting the very idea of some of the races. i.e. wood elf went from archer-heavy to cavalry-heavy. sure, QoT could be made as strong as the 'big three' but would she have any semblence of the QoT w
bottom right, there's a button that says player profiles, or something like that.
i was playing a game with nomilarac and two others yesterday, and py4eek tried to come in...nom commented that the guy desynchs when he's losing. so we booted py4eek. then strangely enough, when the other team began losing...we desynched. i don't want to straight-up say this guy's bad (after all, he has enough losses to be ranked on p5 of the ladder), but it's a possibility. the others were invisigoth and someone i don't remember, and i've played invisi enough to know that he doesn't pull tha
the only thing i've ever seen a queen do is team-shield and thorns. maybe other builds exist, but this seems to be the heavy favorite. the sednas i've played generally have equal or greater offensive capacity, and they're supposed to be "the" support character. a shield boost would be fine, sure, but it would just further ingrain the cookie-cutter build, right?
DA happens to be one of my favorite characters, and late-game i can easily kill just about anything but a well-built rook surrounded by his own towers. And yet, twice now i've heard people say, "i will never play with DA players again." why the hate? is it actually an inherently weaker character, or is it just heavily noob'd? in my experience as an ice TB character, a good DA is one of few things that makes me nervous.
[quote who="RottynDawg" reply="40" id="2495851"]I seriously thank you ALL for the fast and thorough responses. I am having a great time with LoL but I am truly a StarDock fanboy so wanted to give this a try. I can understand heated debates over strategies, item builds and the like...all part of the fun of such a game. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to spend $30 and find out that as a "noob", I couldn't play Thank you all again, I will start the do
problem is it's so hard to tell who's a noob and who's not. i've played less than 40 games online and i already know how to play fairly well. then there are some who have played 100+ and can't stay alive to save their life.
hey now, i'm one of those who got it for Christmas. the servers being down allows me to get some practice in before noobin' it up and ruining your games online. [e digicons][/e] personally, i'm thankful there's been so much work on this game in general. i was going to buy it this summer but heard the servers were awful. from the few times i have played it online before the crash, it seems great now. the sound+lag problem could use a little work, but hey, nobody's perfect.
