Yea Filthgrinder. Stardock will let you into next phase of Beta if you preorder and check appropriate box. However, they only will allow you in when they are ready to open next phase of testing. That date can shift due to schedules, etc. So if you preorder now you will have access to beta, just not immediately. To be honest, I would never preorder any software unless I knew 100% that I truly want it and can take all the bugs that will be shipped with it.&n

Well, turned out to be interesting post and replies. Oh and I hope you are jesting when saying you like rigma. Megma, schmegma. Seems like bartering should be part of game. Maybe slavery. Or both, "My 2 Magnar warriors for your 3 Tarth maids?" or "Your Fire Shard for a Resoln mage?" Some have mentioned making currency with the likeness of your Soverign. Nice touch. I think you should have some origin
Heya DauntlessAnsible, Just saying what movies I thought other gamers, like ZehDon who was excited to go see Avatar, might also like to watch. I like your interpretation though, since I did say that one of the movies would be a good gaming idea(Westworld). I guess it's a little bit of both. I was really only making a comment with my movie selections because it sometimes nice to know something without giving away the story completely[e digicons
Think you can flip coin on these cards every couple years; i've had cards from both manufactures and have enjoyed stability and smooth graphics for years now from both companies. I will say that the last card that I owned from Nvidia went out after only a couple years. I replaced with same make/model and have been fine ever since. Guess I would say samething about other pc parts manufacturers. Sometimes AMD has a nice chip or upgrade options, othertimes
My only critisism I have with the whole game is the way some of the heroes are depicted with their stats, etc. as if on a trading card. Is this necessary? Is there a card game in co-development like the book for Elemental?
I agree with edpfister. Would like the canons, blackpowder, muskets, etc., to be modded in later.
Dark Crystal-its slow but fun, just like a tbs. Anyone remember the Gelfling's and Skeksis? Was done by Jim Henson and Frank Oz.
Well said Zehdon. I think censorship will always be in limelite because it is constantly monitored(funny huh) and people want to push it in one direction or another. As for the racism, it can disappear in my opinion, but it will take a planet wide catastrophy to get everyone on same page at same time. I also think the further away we get from historical slavery the better chances for this happening. Just another opinion..

For me, I would like to play Master of Magic Mod or Master of Magic 2 Mod. Also a "boothill" style mod, a submarine warfare "You sunk my battle ship!" mod and any mod recreating the dnd/runequest experience. What mods would you like to play, if made?

Wow, lots of thoughts here. I tried to read em all...I am gonna propose a mashup of several suggestions by others already. Blueprints are a great idea for implementing road building/other building schemes. Gives us that control we want in our strategizing. Blueprint screen could be fairly involving feature of the game. Several have stated that micro managing workers/peons/serfs/etc. is just no fun. Just automate the workers. So you won
Heya Tridus, and everyone. Good responces, thank you. To your question- "(I'm also not sure why LAN is split off from multiplayer. LAN these days is based on TCP/IP, and there is no technical difference between a LAN game and an Internet game where one of the players is hosting.)" I consider LAN split into categories. Mostly because of reponse times. When you connect to a hub in the same room as your pc and other pcs are connected to

I would think there would be a range or mix of possibilities. I wouldn't consider most spouses to be fellow champion units, but I could see this happening occasionally. Seems like having a spouse unit as a champion all the time would be boring. I would like to see these possibilities for marriages/spouses- Is fellow Soverign of neighboring Kingdom/marriage becomes alliance with some overlapping consolidation of Kingdoms>Kingdom=New name, bonuses, etc.<
Glad to finally see/read this post. Tried to take it all in. Several ideas sounded promising. I will now attempt to come up with a few quests myself. I might be plagerizing previous ideas/comments. Feel flattered and not offended please. I can see a need for a quest format with branching tree's and quest plot(s). So what should the quest editor have? The quest editor should have a flagged event(s) to enact/start
Heya Malachite. I am glad you took the time to respond with a fairly good argument. However, I am not sure this will be accurate- "I would still urge Brad that at some point when the title reaches full maturity in terms of sales to avoid this method and release a FINAL patch that can be used without the servers to remove this constraint from collectors / archivist like myself." I know most like to find and paste a link but at moment just re
Thanks for the links guys[e digicons]:)[/e] .
I like your idea, but am hesitant to fully endorse. I am all for customization and making choices that allow for endless replayability. However, you know many people will stick to one method or style. Luckmann, I think the min-max part would be noticable in multiplayer but would be handy for single player as well. From what I understand, the traits, both positive and negative, are there to help with evolving a unique looking/playing Soverign/faction. &nb
klaxton499, take your idea one step further and give a multiplayer game option of each player getting their turn at running the Kingdom. Maybe a mod idea. Flow of game would wander so interesting and unknown gameplay elements would develop over a course of a single game. Not knowing in what direction your Kingdom would go in would make strategy more difficult to predict.
My order is in for the Limited Edition, today. This is the first time I have ever done this for a game. I think Stardock deserves the early support. Usually, I would wait(to purchase) till a game has most of its bugs worked out; a year or so down the line from initial release.
Most cities are made of people moving and doing different things. If there were real-time animations for shopworkers, smiths, Bard or 2 singing songs, birds flying nearby, etc. Also, the animations should not remain static. They should move around, go into buildings, go to their housing at night for sleep, sweep the stable, etc. They could call out to each other once in a while, "Greetings, stranger.", "I am Mystic X; have you seen my pet S
I'm in agreement with most of the views expressed in this article and the resulting responces. Stanley can you please explain your views on DRM? I don't agree with your viewpoint in a big way. If you have something worthwhile to say about the subject I'm more than willing to listen. Otherwise, your view sounds misguided or maybe ignorant. Have you been pc gaming long? Don't want to offend you but I really don't understand your viewpoint on t
I'll add a few comic book superhero movies into the mix. Iron Man -with Robert Downey Jr., doesn't follow original comic but still fun to watch. Could be considered an action movie. The Hulk -with Edward Norton. Didn't like the Hulk as comic or TV show, etc., but this movie was done well. I give it praise because it made a fun, entertaining production out of a comic character I didn't really care about.
To start, want to say that I have been pc gaming since 1983/84. The first games I played was on a friends pc and I don't have the foggiest as to what make or model. Tape drive though..think cassette tapes. Another friend had a pc with orange text and floppy disc. I didn't actually own my own pc until 92 or 93. It was given to me by the first tech co I worked for. It was a 286x from Compaq. First type of pc games I played were tex
