Game crashes when starting new game (ToA) in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

Bought and downloaded ToA today via Impulse, game installed without any problems. I had a disc copy of GalCiv 2 Gold installed, updated through Impulse. When I started a new game, I tried to start the original Dread Lords campaign and was booted to desktop after the mission synopsis. Rebooting and trying again had the same result.
