Sorry hfbrooklyn ; I havn't been able to get that many cities yet in 1.1, so I have no idea how its working now. I'll keep a close eye on the prestige issue you mentioned if I should ever get out of the "oh shit, I'm dead" stage of this ridiculous game I'm currently in with my magic oriented Sov/Empire. A couple of good ideas above, but heres a few more. 2 of the simplest ways to get gilder is to steal all the notable locations from your enemies territory... takes some serious tech research though to keep up with the AI's notable location lvl. And to discover as many of the factions in game, so that you have a large base with which to use the trade option for declaring war for gilder between those factions. The only other 'simple

Evolution is fun & bloody at times, just like revolutions. I think its awesome they listen & ignore people all at the same time. It shows me 3 things about them. There human (heard a rumour some may be mutants & aliens) They have there own unique vision (just like everyone else^^) They like playing games (what sane person doesn't?) Now, I to feel as though I've been pulled & pushed in numerous directions, but you

"Yarp", I agree with Recnelis2 . As mentioned in numerous threads many people find the magic system kind of flat. Now let me answer your questions & rehash as to why. 1. Have you played Galactic Civilizations 2.. If so.. please also name expansion packs if any you play

The untis you recieve are random. That said, I spent some time seeing all the diferent untis that can rewarded for the Random Gaurdian Unit choice. I have seen up to 5 units spawn per pick, but these untits are generally inferior to the single untis that spawn, but not allways. I play on ridiculous & the following 2 untis are what I aim for when I do not want to / or simply can't afford to leave a hero behind for city defense. At city lvl 2 the best choice I found wa

Pretty much everything I read above is good, but heres a few things that weren't mentioned, but please keep in mine... its all about how you like to play. Also, some of the below tips really should be changed/nerfed, but thats been suggested allready in other threads. That said I'm currently trying games of ridiculous world / ridiculous faction / large maps with a Sov who is focusing on using only magic. Needles to say I'm getting hurt alot & needed a break. <p style="text-align

Good points Pantasd . [e digicons][/e] I havn't seen anyone mention that its possible to marry your children & grandchildren to your own familly members that decided to join another faction after coming of age... VIVA incest. sigh [e digicons]:puke:[/e]
Well, I don't play on higher difficulty levels so Arcane Arrow "woks fine" in middle ones.
Yeah, I hear ya, but I found it to be entirely without any challenge to play it on anything but the max dificulty setting. Hell, even on ridiculous I find I can easilly clear all npc's & enemy AI without any major trouble if I use weapons & armor. So this time around I wanted to see how I would
In that regard try playing on Ridiculous where spiders have 50ish starting health and still only do 3 damage
oh, & don't forget to mention "leader" npcs for quests have around 350+ hp each... should I mention dragons.. or demons.. HA.. :)

Wintersong Yep, once my Sovereign has access to an offensive spell (usually Arcane Arrow), the magic machine is on (although at first a bit limited because arcane arrow isn't really a "basic magic attack" spell). Sure takes a long time to kill a npc that has 350+hp with arcane arrow...especially with nearly no mana to speak of; lol. I've been stairing at 2 unfinished quests right outside my capitols z.o.c. for the last 30

lots & lots of [e digicons][/e] Helps me play... but its hard to buy more [e digicons][/e] at 5:43 am. I'v been trying to play a Sovereign who does not use a stick, & relies solely on magic... yikes... sure is hard on rediculous; let me rephrase that, sure is impossible. I've been playing since v1.09e; then from there each & every beta thats hit us. While alot of things have been improved magic has not. Actually, from my experience magic is less powerfull

Has anyone else noticed that ocasionaly you will not be able to build on a clearly empty adjacent tile within your ZoC? I've noticed this bug now in this version twice allready @ season 21 & once in the previous beta. However, the tile can be built on if the game is closed & reloaded... Playing a custom empire. No clue if this happens or not for kingdom players.

Right, well I was over generalizing. I do agree with you about not everything for everyone.. that sort of "ballance" wasn't what I was aiming at.. Argh.. I would probably be more clear with a little R&R... So on that note before I go back to dream about the "perfect" EWoM, lemme just say... City population could be used as "food" in a pinch... no? ^^jk

6 games in the last 2 days on the 2 latest beta versions. The npc's never touched the AI player cities or units. Only time they battled was when certain AI players attacked them along there borders. As for the npc's targets for attack; it looked to me as if they would fix on 1 target then try to take it out... all the while ignoring anything closer to them; had a pioneer bumper chase a group of shrills chasing 1 of my caravans for a few miles
