Win98SE installed April 2001, probably needs a format & reinstall now, has a few hickups now & then, but I head into DOS, scanreg\restore when it plays up & then select a successful startup from a day or 2 earlier to get running again...pain in the bum, but I just can't stand the thought of rummaging through all the files to locate the ones I want to re-instal. It gives me nightmares just thinking about it!! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddl

I don't think I'm burying my head in the sand with regard to this issue, but with so many different arguments coming from all sides, I'm not prepared to cast a vote one way or the other. The only historically proven fact that we have available is that the earth has suffered massive climate changes during its time, and will continue to do so. To believe that what we experienced 10 years ago or 20 years ago or 50 years ago ad infinitum is the "norm" is to subscribe to idiocy. All we need is anothe

This issue will always be hotly debated (pun intended), but the question I always ask when a "Scientific Study" is published proving that "Yes, humans are causing the problem" or "No, it's a natural cycle & humans are not having a big impact at all" is this: who is funding the research? Lets face it, most if not all Scientific research has to derive funding from somewhere, and along with that funding you can guarantee that there is also going to be an agenda. So the research is slanted to th

My dear Madice, you will also see that I said exactly this further down in my post. If you are going to edit a post, please try to keep the intended context. Therefore I would urge you to look look very carefully at ALL the ramifications of limiting email addy access to "The Chosen Few

I think that email abuse is one thing that we need to enforce. I think that anyone using another members email address to solicit illegal behavior should have to face consequences. I *really* don't want people to quit discussing products and suites for fear that some jerk will email them asking for it for free.I would request that any email that is received from this poi

GM, if I have trodden on your toes with my comments, I do apologise. I merely meant to convey my thoughts that the provision of access to an email address must surely be the decision of the individual, and not that of the community in general. As to comments regarding choice, well, there are alternatives such as blocking an offender's email at the server, etc, so I believe that yes, they still do have choices

I do hope you are not inferring that those of us who have purchased object desktop in it's entirety, as well as some of the exclusive skin suites or icon suites etc, are not "a little invested in the place", GM !! Because by only allowing people at apprentice level or better direct access to the email addy's of skinners etc, you are directly dis-enfranchising those of us who most need the direct assistance of the skinners when we encounter problems. As an example, Jebland made a wonder

Am I correct in assuming that the person was offering to swap one product for another whilst retaining an illegal copy of the original product offered, or were they looking to release ownership of the original product (including deleting any/all copies of the original product that they had)?

Thank goodness for that. I've been uninstalling & re-installing to try & resolve the problem, finally re-installed the previous version to rectify....thought I might have some type of system conflict or virus. Thanks for the post, guys, I can sleep peacefully now, .

Mine's pretty simple... my surname is Locke (pronounced Lock) but all my mates call me Lockie. A mild fascination with the Norse gods gets me to Loki (being somewhat mischievous myself!) but unfortunately this was already taken in here, so I took Loci instead (nothing like a focal point, is there?)
