IconPackager 10 has always been a very sad disappointment. It's obvious that they neither had the patience or the interest in creating something great. -- Ace --

I have personally mentioned many times in many posts , how I dream that one day Stardock would rebuild IconPackager to make it more compatible with todays latest OS's. P.S. - Still Dreaming [e digicons]:inlove:[/e] P.S.S - I'm still making lots of IconPackages [e digicons]|-)[/e] -- Ace -- <
Did I mention that I dumped Windows 11 and went back to Windows 10. Umm...yeah....didn't like my computer shutting off all by itself every 10-15 minutes for no apparent reason , windows update stopped updating and gave me error codes instead. Then come to find out that you don't actually own Windows 11 or your computer that it's installed on. I've had it with Corporations telling me what I can and can't do. There are other alternatives out the
I have been running Windows 11 on my "uncompatible" machine for several months now and I can say that I have not had a single issue with this OS since starting it's use. There is literally nothing that I can complain about. It's been running flawlessly. -- Ace --
You have to turn "OFF" the "Let Start11 enhance the taskbar" then scroll down to "Position the start button in the middle of the screen" turn "ON" ....at least that's how I had to do it to make it work right for me. I'm using Widows 11 OS with Start 11 - v.1.16 -- Ace --
This has been going on at Wincustomize for a VERY LONG TIME. Trust me , I know first hand. If you're a skinner , you're NOT ALLOWED to give an HONEST rating of someone else's skin. PERIOD ! If you do , then you are disqualified from ever receiving a PROMOTION....EVER !! ........ FACT. -- Ace --
MS is slowly becoming a "WOKE" nightmare just like their Big Tech buddies. All the spying and control shenanigans are really pissing me off !!! -- Ace --
If Microsoft can make it as good or better than Windows 7 , then I don't care how long it takes. -- Ace --
I'm hoping that once Microsoft has finished making Windows 11 perfect , perhaps Stardock will upgrade the "Package Builder" portion of IconPackager 10 and then I can go crazy building Iconpackages for Windows 11 [e digicons][/e] -- Ace --
I think Stardock is more into it's Gaming Software. They no longer seem that excited about customization software. ( Just a personal observation ) . I have also observed an overwhelming number of posts concerning customer issues with FENCES. I've often thought they should just scrap it altogether or start all over from the ground up. I have often pondered the possibility that I may have to retire from IconPackage creation as well. Without a c

For apps and other items that you may have a problem removing from your computer , there is a nice little app you can Google , it's called LockHunter 3.3 , it's a FREE app and I've used it dozens of times to get rid of stubborn stuff on my computer. After install , just right click on any stubborn file or folder and in the drop down menu you will see an entry that says " What's Locking this Folder? " click on it and follow it's directio
Yes , I agree. The price of graphics cards is way over the top. The price of fast CPU's are also outrageous. I need to majorly upgrade my machine , but the cost is just so prohibitive at the present time. -- Ace --
I have NEVER been a subscriber to ANY Social Media Platform. I have a phone and a phone number and email , that is ALL. My many years in the Military and later as a Government Contractor always made me desire to keep myself and my family Anonymous. As the saying goes, "You can't miss something you never had" , so...yeah I don't miss anything. -- Ace --
I too was having some issues i could not lock down, my system is complex with 4 SSDs in a multi booting set up, i too thought Iconpackager was at fault as i was using IP 5, removed it and installed IP 10 and found it made my system even less stable than edition 5, i did spends a short while with no Iconpackager but then found what i thought may have been the issue, rectified that and installed IP5 again and it has been running fine too. I do also believe that when building new packages , proper picture formats are going to be very important. I found that a few of my package creations that used larger picture formats did not display properly. Anything over 256x256 , likely won't display properly. That's just my personal hypothesis after having tested many packages. -- Ace --
What I'm most anxious to see is how "Package Building" capabilities will be impacted. -- Ace --
As a side note: Newest Insider Build -> Live Folders are back. [e digicons];)[/e]
That's an interesting development
I Forgot to mention that the control panel icons did not change when applying a new package. They remained the default Windows 11 icons.
Is nothing working or is it only the live folders that are not working?
There were several items that did not display properly , for instance , what was supposed to be a " recycle bin " icon displayed as a " document " icon. There were several mismatches like these, as well as a few missing icons. Also , my screen went grey for almost 30 seconds while the system attempted to apply the changes.
I felt it necessary to correct my earlier post here that IconPackager did not work on Windows 11. That claim turned out to be completely erroneous. First , a little background information. I had been having a disturbing issue with my desktop computer randomly shutting down for no apparent reason every single day. What I thought was surely a hardware issue , turned out to be a couple of faulty or incompatible software programs that I discovered by process
Glad to hear that you're enjoying Win 11 as well , Don. Congrats on the new laptop , I'm hoping to get a new one as well hopefully in the spring. -- Ace --
So , I got really bored with Win10, and with the information I acquired from reading this post , I hopped on over to GitHub and got the modified Win11 Media Tool and installed Win11 on my machine from a USB stick. It installed perfectly without a hitch , it's updating with no problem. So yeah , my "uncompatible" machine is now running Win11 like a charm , and to be honest , so far I'm really happy with it. I've also got to admit , it's got pretty attracti
Ok, I actually had to "ADD" it , but it's back now , so thank you very much. Much appreciated [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] -- Ace --
the "RUN" button is missing on my version of Start 11 menu , where is it and how do I get it back ?
