This isn't unique to 1.01, it's happened to me once or twice, again with the same situation that my planets were in the dead corner of the map. Only happens in that area, too; once you start expanding out a bit things smooth out just fine again. Unfortunately, I can't offer many constructive suggestions for you, just think of it as a little extra encouragement for an aggressive early expansion. ;)

Also, Frost, bear in mind that the AI gets a progressive linear boost to it's AI -> Human relations; This was recently made to be a bit more gradual with the 1.01 patch, but the fact of the matter is that the deck is heavily stacked against you in Diplomatic Victory 1v1 games. The AI will slowly but surely gain a positive relation to you, but the only way you'll be gaining any relation is through direct action. To see the AI bonus in action, just keep tabs on the Relation screen, checking

Bug using the map designer in Trinity version of Diplomacy 1.01. Causes a shell crash with minidump. Error is reproducable, using the following steps: 1) Enter the Map Designer from any gamemode (Single Player, Multiplayer, or IC Online) 2) Create a new map (Defaults to 'New-0') 3) Remove the premade star from the map settings. 4) Save the map. 5) Select any other existing map in the map designer. 6) Without altering the e

Not to intrude on foreign ground here, but as the resident forum n00b I can bring a slightly different perspective in... I hope. I think the biggest problem with moving from Ent to Dip isn't a featureset, it's a mindset. All the shiny new diplomatic play is geared almost exclusively to FFA, where you're dealing with the kind of cautious alliegances that turns the tables into "Keep your enemies close, but your friends closer." I'll go out on a limb and say that the

You shouldn't have too much trouble finding such giftcards in a store, but if you can't seem to run across any, check with local banks as well. I'm seeing more and more of them branded from some or other bank / credit union.

I don't have enough Vasari playtime to offer any constructive criticism for the first three suggestions, or #11. Adding in #4, regarding system avoidance, seems like it would be a lot of interface / pathfinding work for a problem that can already be handled via shift+click waypoints. The only caveat to this is that I've never been able to set waypoints for production rally points, which would be the only other related request I can come up with. Since the command interfa

These all seem to be pretty common-sense additions that hopefully wouldn't make an unnecessary timesink for the team, so I'd agree with all of them except #2... but that's for my own selfish reasons. ;) I'm still of the mind that the relationship and diplomacy system is actually a bit too telling... I'm hoping that somewhere in the distant future, an option is added to enable/disable a sort of 'fog of war' on the stats. I don't know of too many reasonable approaches as to why I know h

I agree that the constant growth of Pirate ship stats is a bit out of hand, but I really don't think I've been playing long enough to offer an unbiased opinion... (In other words, they have indeed kicked my arse a few more times than I'd like to admit.) But another small change that I think would do quite a bit of good is to add another small linear growth; namely, that the strength of each raid decreases proportionally with time in respect to the amount offered via public bounty. As

Righto, I didn't know if any of the new logged debug information would still be present if we were to backup the existing Entrenchment exe and rename the new Sync executable; basically whether or not Diplomacy actually utilized the exe for Entrenchment or if it just called on externalized data files. I've seen some applications stack on top each other like that in a few various and asundry programs, but have seldom seen it in the gaming world. Buy hey, who's to say IC didn't try and revolutio

Certainly not what I expected to find as a first-time visitor to the Dev Journals fora, but it's a pretty pleasant surprise. One thing that I don't think you can rule out is the close relationship that Ironclad shares with their community. As you might gather, I'm pretty new to the forums altogether, but I've already seen more instances than I can count on one hand where the devs are actively seeking input on new considerations, as well as giving some genuine thought to the suggestions and co

After having played the original Sins many moons ago, I never got around to playing Entrenchment, but saw a great opportunity when the Trinity pack became available. After convincing a couple friends to pick it up as well, we've been enjoying the heck out of it, but the desync issues are still a fairly frustrating occurrence. Admittedly, though, you Ironclad folks have really impressed me when it comes to community involvement, and I figure my friends and I would all be doing a grave disservi
