Farscape and Firefly on Netflix...Caprica via TV...Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles via DVD/Hulu...Invader Zim on Nickelodeon--basically all excellent shows prematurely killed in their prime by stupid network executives. OBEY THE PANTS!!

It was poor judgment but I feel really sorry for the controller. I have a picture of my son at age four turning on controls in the cockpit of a 707 while I sit in the co-pilot seat and the pilot stands behind us. The co-pilot ran to the terminal while we sat there, found my wife and came back with her camera to get some pictures for us. When I was a teenager, I was allowed to clear take offs (with an airport employees direction) for small planes (it was a rural airport--no

Fighters could be given the role that Allied fighters in Europe had towards he end of WWII...let them provide interdiction. They could be made more effective against scouts and trade/refinery ships for example. Another idea is the flak cruiser--the U.S.S. Atlanta in WWII in the Pacific was set up for this purpose. A cruiser with some primary and secondary guns substituted with anti-aircraft weaponry. It's just the idea that a teeny squadron can loiter over a

Thanks. I saw a couple of tongue-in-cheek comments about "Girls Only" but didn't find anything elsewhere. Now I know. So it's true...ALL will join the unity. Whew...I can have my masculinity back now. I was getting worried there...strange..new...feelings...ayieee!

What's the backstory on Advent? Where do men stand in their world? I don't mean personal interpertations but what's the official line--is their one?

I think one thing we need is a dedicated Flak Turret for planetary defense. Have it take up two slots and suck at ship killing but at least make it an option. It's ridiculous watching small forces of bombers slowly whittle a healthy planetary defense system down to nothing because the entire darn planet can't find a single AA missile. It would also allow defending fleets a little support against the accursed reviving bomber menace. Flak could be made effective aga

I believe he means the planets populate his nav map as if he had visited them--not just the one targeted by the mission but all the planets owned by the player taking the mission. That is a handy advantage--especially with the cannons in play--a Vasari could hit any planet at will with his gun them phase in...whether scouted or not.

Just at a glance--but should there be three lines here or one line with all types seperated by commas?
recommendedGameTypeCount 3 recommendedGameType "FFA" recommendedGameType "FFA" recommendedGameType "FFA"
And a related question...is "race type" a valid parameter in the current game? I noticed the line structure has changed
One idea I think Stardock and Ironclad could implement would be to give new players--CD keys that have never logged onto ICO before or that have only been doing it for less than 2 months--the option of choosing to go to a special new players only server.
Or along that line make it so a player's win ratio only goes up if they win versus someone of an equal level or higher.

Itv will work but that Celeron processor isn't going to enhance your game and you might have a crash now and then on a long game with big maps or large fleets.

Not fear...I don't mind losing at all. It's the bash-and-trash players that keep me offline (that and lack of long play periods). It's no fun when you come on to play with the intention of picking up pointers and learning and the person playing has memorized every attribute and stat of every unit and simply sees how fast he can crush you without giving you a tip or helpful comment along the way. I played chess a lot when I was younger and the worst thing you could do was attr

I'm curious to model myself but don't think I will have the time to learn all the tweaks. Somone does have a modeling package somewhere though as I recall seeing it. Perhaps they'll post a link.

Is there a comment tag that can be used in galaxy file maps? I mean like the equivalent of: //comment here or comment here --> ...to can be used to add non-displayed comments but doesn't interfere with the map's function. Any such thing in SINS as I would like to flag parts of my larger

Hmmm...I think it is primarily a factor of the map size--how many worlds, pirates, militia, construction, combat, etc. As you play, more and more current actions have to be written and stored into memory...eventually it gets full and your cpu puts memory loading on hold while it tries to catch up. Think of your memory like a chain of large dump trucks and your cpu as the excavator that unloads them. When you are going slow/freezing, there are so many trucks your cpu gets m

It's essentially a "work around"...the game doesn't allow a lot of things--especially without modding. I am working on a map now trying to balance out the disparate starting conditions but it requires a lot of thought as to world type and placement, jump paths, pirate/militia positions, relative income/tech progression, etc.--basically a boat-load of playtesting required.
