Visiting about:third-party in Firefox 90 reveals this (link to screenshot) . Why does Fences (I have version 3.0.9.11, on Windows 10) need to mess with Firefox? I would rather it did not mess with it.

Thanks but . . starting from reply 11 and above? Do you really mean above? (If so, why not say, 'down to reply 11'?) If you mean (only) the suggestion about switching GPU: I have only one GPU. Also, I reached these conclusions: Windows can be slow at sending to the desktop; Fences makes it worse. I have decided to dispense with Fences and indeed to entirely avoid having icons on my desktop.
AzDude: thanks. Windows 10 Pro 1909 18363.959. One monitor. Resolution: 2560 x 1440. Scaling: 225%.
Also: I tried just now to reinstall Fences, via the 3.09 installer. The installer crashed each time I ran it. And the link to 'my downloads' via this website seems not to work at all.
Dear all Like some other people - for I've seen this complaint before, though I am afraid I do not recall where - sending an icon to the desktop (in, I think, any way) is too slow. The process produces an hourglass for some eight seconds and that is on a computer with a quadcore, 16GB of RAM, a SSD and which generally is in at least fairly good shape. (Windows 10 Pro 1909.) Can anything be done about this? Things I have tried to no avail: updating Fences (I have
Actually, I think I'll remove Groupy and just use an alternative file manager. For, the way Groupy integrates - aggressively and seemingly buggily - into Windows will just cause trouble, I expect.
In File Explorer, the new tab icon - the icon that shows a '+' sign - creates a new *window*. I've installed Group only just now but I have - twice - closed all Explorer windows; yet, the problem persists. I'd be grateful if someone could advise. Windows 10 Pro x64 1903.
OK, using a different browser, and having entered my credentials twice, I managed to get the download. Also, restoring the backup removed all the colours from my Fences; the colours don't get backed up. I've mentioned this before. (Why don't you celibrate your anniversary by trying to make your website and products work better , frankly?)
https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products gives an error.
I've backed-up and purged. Now, where do I get the new installer from, please? Also: you're going to fix the forum problem I identified, yes?
Dear Basj Thanks for the reply, but I don't fancy re-creating all my fences. Still, I suppose I could save the layout and then restore it - yes?
As usual, there's a problem with the latest update. To wit: after the update, the program keeps offering to update itself. Also, the lack of e-mail support for a paid product seems unacceptable. Further, the 'sign in' link below the 'hello guest' text takes one to a dialog for creating a new account. What a mess!
