I'm a bit hesitant to install DX 9 components on Win 8. Will the final version work with DX 11?
When trying to install DeskScapes 8 on Win8 Pro x64 I get this message: Microsoft DirectX Version 9c Update Required Setup has detected the installed DirectX version requires updating. Click OK to download and install DirectX... Can this be right?
Thanks for the quick response.
I can't seem to find a changelog for WindowFX. What changed from 5.01 to 5.10
Well. excuse old grumpy boots here.
This is because support has something to give you that should fix the issue
Are you saying that there is a fix? I can't find an update in my downloads...
Uninstalled WindowFX and withdrew my support ticket. I feel tricked into beta testing software. "Have you contacted support" is the automated answer to every post here, it seems. But this is not a petition, which a certain amount of people has to subscribe to. I recommend not looking into people's systems, but into the code of the software. Tons of people on Win 7 x64 have the issue. Only the software developers cannot reproduce it. Go figure.
Is there a way for us to manually set WindowFX at the top/bottom of the shutdown sequence in Windows 7?
I don't think it would make a difference. The beta versions even crashed explorer.exe when switching off WindowFX, not only when shutting down. There must be a problem with WindowFX not properly releasing its hook on explorer on x64. As far as I've seen this happens on 64 bit Windows..</
I contacted support now. The betas I simply uninstalled. Fortunately you have 8 machines in this thread on which the error was reproduced [e classic]:congrat:[/e]
Had this problem with the WFX 5 betas. Was hoping it would be fixed in the final version, Error on every shutdown on Win7 x64. Maybe too exotic an operating system for thorough testing during years of development??
For the graphics files download FileTypesMan from Nirsoft. I was able to easily exchange *.bmp*.png.......all the graphics files. As for the Audio Files, it doesnt work for me... Actually while searching for the answer I stumbled across this post... Any Ideas? EDIT: OK found the solution. You'll have to tweak the registry.
