Crash when beginning a new game... in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

The title pretty much explains the problem as far as I can see. I have been looking around the forums at some of the other posts dealing with crashes when starting new games and tried some of the solutions suggested there, reg files, ensuring the resolution is set to the native resolution so on and so forth, but to no avail. If it's at all relevent it might be worth noting that I got a single game played before the problem started arising. Anyway, thats enough babble, heres the debug.err:
