Awesome! I just started a new game with 1.30 like 10 mins ago but I'll abandon it now :) Much balance, but few bugfixes...

Thank you for this update! Looking forward to playing again...
I completely agree with your strategy, this is exactly what I do too. And I apply this strategy for every strategy game I play: quality over quantity. I also agree with your demands, but the upgrade unit thing doesn't look like it's gonna happen. And GalCiv 2 does so have the option to upgrade units, and all units of that type, which is very very useful.
I don't know what difficulty you're referring to, but the AI should be able to build heavy armored units on Normal. If I am able to do something and the AI has more resources then me, it should be able to do the same. This is why I always win, because of poor AI unit design. If I equip 10 champions with legendary weapons and armor, I can destroy any AI on Normal because they don't use legendary weapons and armor.
Yes I have briefly studied your posts regarding the AI. You are very thorough and I'm sure this is helping the devs a lot to improve the AI. I really hope all your dedication pays off, it's a very fun game.
This is very interesting. If the AI indeed works at full potential on Normal difficulty, then if doesn't use powerful strategic spells, it means it lacks the mana or the arcane knowledge to use them. I don't like the idea of having to give the AI economic advantages and such for it to be able to use its full potential.
I also noticed the AI will design and build more advanced units as the technology becomes available, but champions and the sovereign don't receive the best equipment. However, my suggestion is that the AI should make use of strategic spells too because the game is pretty unbalanced when I can use Destroy Land to cut off or limit the AIs ability to maneuver and it can't. I want to see the AI raise a volcano on my city!
Thanks! That's a great post that further confirms what I was saying. I'll look into it some more...
I think he's talking about Shogun 2 Total War. He'll figure out he's on the wrong forum when none of the replies are in red font.
First of all, War of Magic is a game with great potential, but it's far from the stable version it should be, but it's slowly getting there. Secondly, I shall compare the AI to GalCiv II Twilight of the Arnor, because I love that game, and because Brad and his team developed that too. I haven't played much WoM, maybe 6 games, but all on Normal difficulty, because it uses the full potential of the AI without cheating (I play GalCiv II only on Challenging for the sam
I agree with Phylast57. I think the focus should now shift on performance so that the game becomes more playable. If it runs out of memory, we can restart and load the last autosave, shit happens. But if the game slows down to the point where it becomes unplayable, it just isn't worth playing. I really really don't think this game is more CPU intensive then GalCiv2 T
It happened for me in 1.19m too. I tried everything, only the Autoresolve button worked, but I had eliminated the most dangerous units by the time the battle froze.
Yes, I found that terrain issues can really mess up a game. I destroyed some opponent's city by raising a volcano on it, and it turned out that it was the only way towards that guy's other cities. And that huge peninsula he was on didn't have any beaches. The Terraforming spellbook would have been very usefull, but it's not researchable. I think the Terraforming, Enchantment, Combat and Mobility spellbooks should be researchable, but more research-expensive then the elemental
The Ancient Fortress icon is missing for my game. This is the first game I play with 1.19m so I don't know if it's only this game, or it's a general issue.
Same thing just happened to me right now. It didn't happen with 1.1 but I only played like 2 games. However unlike in 1.1, the game's performance doesn't degrade to the point where it becomes unplayable. debug.err: http://pastebin.ca/2047271
I had an army of clones in 1.1, it's normal... I never thought about renaming though :D
Probably related: I encountered a bug when hovering over an enemy caravan, the info card in the lower right corner would be completely blank, not even display health, or other stats, description or portrait.
I'm glad to see you guys haven't forgot about GalCiv. I'd like to see something that shows how well a civilization or planet is doing with graphical feedback like cities get bigger in the Civ series (obviously planets can't get bigger) or how you can see trade ships in the Total War series trading between ports. I know it involves a big effort and it probably won't happen, but just thought I'd throw it out there. Thanks for
