So it seems all video cards, Nvidia, AMD-ATI or Intel, low-, mid- or high-end are affected. And the more map is explored, the more the FPS drops. This leads me to believe it's an engine optimization problem. Let's just hope it gets fixed soon after release and that people won't bash the game for it. EDIT: Disabling the Terrain Information Window will improve FPS when moving around the map, both 3D and cloth, as there's no need for the engine to read and display terrain

I get 60 FPS at the start of the game, and jgiombet with his GTX 580 gets 43... EDIT: So I started a new .983 game and I get 60FPS everywhere, even in tactical combat, which has nothing to do with game progression... Maybe it's an optimization issue as the game progresses. Will report as I play more. Even switching between research trees and... pretty much ev

This changelog is so young, and yet it grows so fast. Until now, I didn't know huge weekly patches are one of my favorite things. EDIT: I've been having glitches on the cloth map since .951 https://forums.stardock.com/430835/page/1/#3222945

Whoa, wait, I just got it... You have a GTX 580, the second fastest consumer video card on the market, and you don't have optimum performance? What's the lowest you ever got? Even 43 FPS at the start of the game, when there's literally nothing to render, is way too low. This gives me hope, maybe only Nvidia cards are affected. Anyway, if such a monster like the GTX 580 gets a performance hit, there's surely nothing wrong with my card's performance :D

Indeed only the base damage is doubled. Say for example you have a base damage of 10, and Burning Blade gives you an additional 4, that's 14 damage. Casting Focus, will give you 2x10 (double base damage) +4 from Burning Blade = 24, not 28.
maybe tooltip should reflect "BASE damage is doubled"
Good point.

I have an Nvidia 9600GT on Windows 7 64bit. It's an old card, but its 256bit bandwidth is an advantage. I read people playing FE on XP are forced to use cloth map only, because of CTDs. That makes me feel slightly better. If they can still enjoy the game, I should too :) EDIT: Updated the title.

More then 3 years after its release, Windows 7 still has very serious and well known memory leak which makes the machine unresponsive in seconds. At least Windows 8 has an excuse, but still, anything's better than that plagued XP :) I will further investigate this issue, it has really weird symptoms. Like for example, the worst FPS areas are in Imperium zones. I can have one city in an Imperium zone in my FOV, and I still get worse FPS than when having 2 cities in my FOV some

Perhaps ~1-3 FPS, insignificant. It's weird...
The #1 performance thing you can do though is turn OFF the outlines. They suck up a lot rendering time. On my machine, I get around 10fps (which is meaningless to go from 50fps to 60fps but still).
This is true, outlines do affect performance noticeably. Regarding your other suggestion, I did run FE at 1600x900 (as opposed to the desktop resolution of 1920x1080) and there's like a 2 FPS difference, so it

I don't remember having problems with WoM. But I might have had a lower resolution monitor back then. Still, it's a very annoying issue and must be solved. EDIT: Disabling HDR gives another 2-3 FPS, but it isn't worth it, since it makes the game look much uglier.
