I'm not sure why, but playing a game on normal, these guys barely bothered me... once or twice some big spider/troll would threaten my towns, but a rare inconvenience. Pretty much the same as the AI. The entire game seemed to consist of collecting goodie huts, hunting down monsters as I wondered beyond my zone, and wiping out any other faction I came across in a single battle (sovereign death). I suspect my starter sovereign (one of the pre
Lol, true enough, multiplayer has been around for quite a while, but until recent days multiplayer meant playing with a friend in the same room or over a LAN. I'm talking online infrastructure multiplayer, which has surfaced only recently. Developers realized that they could make people pay for this coveted resource, and thus figured they could make people pay for more than that too, they could remove side content from the game and releas
EDIT I checked IGN's statement on "how we grade". But how bad is a 6.0 really? It says "passable", which reads like "playable, but not great", but how often do they attribute this or better grades?
I like the tile limit, if anything it is too high. One problem though is that includes resources. This means that if you merge with the resource-squares your city suddenly use 4 tiles extra. This means you have to be "gamey" and avoid merging into resources unless you need collective defense (like on a frontier).
stardock dude just said he THINKS that that will be addressed in the patch that SHOULD be coming out at some point today</p

Eh. No harm in asking. Edit: In response to your second question, I think you can trade things like metal and materials with other AIs for gold or various other things. I haven't messed with trading yet, so I'm not sure how well or balanced it is/works.
So what would be considered free content if that excludes patches and expansion packs? any examples?
like an extension to a campaign or a new campaign or a tutorial edit: new creatures, new spells, new buildings, new whatever that's not just fixing a bug or an expansion pack
