Must be your system cos loads of people are playing livestream and it looks superb!

Hey! I'm in China too and downloading the demo as we speak. The full version will be available 8am Friday morning...not too long to go!
I hope the entire SD crew take a good few days off to play Civ 5. I know we're not supposed to compare, but they're both 4x games so comparison is always gonna happen. Maybe dettaching themselves from EWOM for a few days will give them fresh inspiration for the future and after playing Civ 5 they may come back with the attitude of "let's blow this game out of the water and turn EWOM into something amazing!" Btw, I don't have EWOM anymore...got a refund....Firaxis is getting my m
These things usually come down to economics and denial. People who can't afford to buy the latest hot thing and want it desperately and know that lots of other people can afford it, attack it instead to make themselves feel better. It never works!
I look at the countdown clock on Steam a few times every day and it's so torturous! I just looked now and it's available to me in 2 days and 23 hours, so I guess that means it's already unlocked for our North American friends? You're so lucky!!
The "boring" aspect seems to be based more on the campaign and to be fair, he does give credit where credit's due to SD for the constant updates and fixes.
Now that's what you call amazing customer service! [e digicons][/e]
It sounds like you really enjoy the game, so why don't you try to work directly with support? Just give them the info they want and I'm sure they'll be happy to help you fix it as quickly as possible.

Are we going to run out of nouns? Now we have a tweak for the update for the patch for the game? What if the tweak needs fixing? [e digicons]:|[/e]
It does make you wonder what their QA person actually does to warrant an update to fix a patch to fix a game so quickly!
There's a small but loud crowd who have decided to nix Civ V because of steam. I don't know if it'll be enough to get Firaxis to rethink bundle-locking their game with a controversial service that, while a lot of people like just fine, some loyal fans want nothing to do with.
Judging by the amount of people who have already handed over their money to Firaxis before the game's even available, I don't think they'l
I've just been watching that 8 part "long session" 2K did of it on YouTube and it looks absolutely superb....I can't wait!! I don't care what Civs are included or excluded so long as there's a nice selection to choose from in the beginning and the list appears to be very long!
Wait and use that money to buy Civ 5 next week. Don't listen to the fanboys. This game will be fun in a year, plus it will probably be 30 or 20 bucks by then.
Absolutely +1!
Now it's shorter? How about just "spells" :)
I think Stardock is a great company, but one that is better appreciated retrospectively...or retroactively...not sure which word. It seems that their games are released in not such a great state, but develop into greatness further down the line. I bought Elemental and wasn't impressed or could find anything that drew me back so I got a refund and bought Gal Civ 2 Ultimate with all its exp. packs in the Impulse sale and I think it's superb! I'm guessing I will end up doing the sam
It turns out that the files were all image and sound files, so I just overwrote the original files in their corresponding folders. There was one xml file.....GC2Types.xml in the data / english folder that needed changing, so I just saved the original one and pasted over the new one....seems to be working OK!
Thanks for your reply Moosetek, appreciate it! I'll give that a try and see how I get on.
Hello! Is it possible to use more than one mod at a time? It seems that if I want to add a mod, I have to unload the one I'm already using. For example I have the HRG v2.0 mod installed and now I want to add the Ultimate FX Mod, but in the read me it doesn't say anything about where to put the files or how to use it: The Readme file just says: "Welcome to the Ultimate FX Mod v 2.0 (MMV compatible) from I-Mod Productions! This Mod unlocks many more Weapon e
Just bought GC2 Ultimate Edition and while it's downloading I've also downloaded some mods. Will these work OK with this version?: HRGMod2.0 Ultimate FX Mod for Twilight of the Arnor MMV comp Thanks!
I've read a bit more and I think I'm more inclined to go with GC2 because Sins seems to be more designed for multiplayer and RTS like you said. I love empire building games like the Civ series, so GC2 sounds more up my street! I found the most popular mods too to update the graphics. I'll just do a bit more reading and then I'll prob go for GC2! :)
How about Sins of a Solar Empire? That's also in the sale and both games appear to be very highly rated! They both seem to be 4x games and I'm wondering which is better? @ Thizzbaby, thanks for the Amazon tip but I live in the middle of nowhere in China, so it's safer to go with digital download! :)
Hello all, I've never played any other Stardock games before and I wondered if this was worth getting in the Impulse sale or would it be a bit dated now? The package is on sale for US$39.95 and includes: "Get the complete GalCiv II saga including the acclaimed PC strategy game of the year Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords, the award winning expansion pack Dark Avatar, and the newest expansion pack Twilight of the Arnor! The Ultimate Edition ties together the campa

After getting my refund for Elemental I'm so looking forward to the release of Civ 5 and from all the previews & pre-release footage it looks like it's going to be stunning! I'm still going to keep an eye on Elemental though and see how it develops in the future because I'll probably buy it back again in 3-6 months or when it's cheaper.
