I too was having issues, the FAQ is a joke. But what did help me was going into compatibility mode for the executable, and setting it to windows 8, and click "change high DPI settings" at the bottom. Put a check in the box for "High DPI Scaling Override" > apply >save. After launching the game, set scaling to small or it will be huge. I still have the occasional crash or corrupted save game, but this makes it a lot more playable. I was also having the mouse pointer getting jittery
When you summon the wisp, it is supposed to heal your units within 1 tile, it doesn't. The heal ability it has works, on it's turn.

I have been playing the 1.7 Beta, I have defeated Vertrar, and assigned his fist to a city, got the awesome sword. But The land doesn't unlock from a winter wildland. I can not even use a pioneer for outpost, so all the nice locations, I can not use. If I try to use the Birth of Summer spell on the land,
I also bought E:WOM as a pre-sale, for both me and my wife. When we got the game, I actually thought it was okay, But not good enough for me to continue playing past 1.2. Did I hate Stardock for the game? No. Why? Because it isn't the first time, nor will it be the last time I purchase a game, and not walk away feeling this is perfect, or even a good game.
