My sovereign was attempting to cross the water in a boat. However the far shores were completely made up of cliffs. After spending a number of turns unsuccessfully trying to get off my boat I decided to teleport myself to friendly territory. When I cast teleport next to one of my cities the boat came with me. Teleporting while in a boat causes the boat unit to be teleported along with the caster. The annoying thing is that once I had teleported the the end turn button s

I have been playing elemental from the start and played through all the beta versions. I am now at a point where I love this game. However, there are a few things that annoy me personally that I have not seen elsewhere so I figure why not put them in a list, maybe others agree. 1. City leveling: Do you want extra tech, arcane research, gildar or random unit? Why can't the dialog window display current tech, arcane research, gildar product and defensive capabilities? Tha

Random can have its problems. Although the random map I am playing right now feels like river world; Long valleys with steep sides. There are 8 players but so far I have only found one other player and I figure I have explored half the large map already. I think the Ai is finding it difficult to branch out and discover resources.

I am sure you know your stuff but when you argued that the only difference between a 32bit and 64 bit cpu was the number of seats on a bus I felt it was a pretty poor analogy. 64 bit computers make working with large files, video etc much easier.A 64 bit os/cpu is also great for working with encrypted files. Also because you have more registers to play with you can keep more data in cpu with out having to go to second level cache. Anyw

Agreed the car analogy vs a bus is a bad example. It is obvious that Thoumsin only has a shallow understanding of CPU architecture. Its funny how history repeats I remember similar arguments from ludites who argued that 8bit was the way to go and that 16bit wasn't what it was cracked up to be, and then again 16 vs 32 bit. If you are putting together a new computer and you want windows you would obviously install Windows 7 64 Bit.

Are you running beta 1.09q? I had regular CTD pre 1.08 - (and the first beta 1.09n) -however I have no stability issues at all with the later beta version - using 1.09q at the moment ahas been stable as a rock. Have you got software running on both computers that may be a contributing factor? e.g., AVG (sucks arse).

Incredible Shrinking borders I noticed that after I loaded a saved game my border of influence had shrunk. When I saved the game my cities were joined and the resources were being mined. A few hour later I loaded my latest saved game and now my border are not touching by a long distance and the resources I was previously mining were lost to me. Quite an annoying bug.

Love reading this sort of thing. I have been writing games for 25 years but nothing this big and so it is really nice to see how the experts do stuff. Thanks for sharing.

The ipad absolutely rocks. It is the most fun I have had with new hardware since i got my 286 in 1992. It has changed computing in our household. We play games on it. We useit to quickly look up information using atomic browser. Youtube is a favourite. I use it read novels (about 10 so far) I also use it for all the text books we have. However we also use it to control the HTPC connected to our plasma screen. Ihave one app that I can use to wake up the computer.

I disagree. Every 10 turns? I think you are a very small minority. From 1.06 onwards the crashes have dropped significantly. On my system I can play for a few hours before I have crash to desktop. Annoying but not too much of a major. I am banking on Civ V next week. And then in a few months Elemental will be the game it was supposed to be.

The middle button on my mouse works 100% fine - except in elemental. Using Control - Arrow keys is too slow and bothersome to pan around an object. Also the zoom function using mouse wheel is still poked. It takes a few rolls of the finger to get any movement out of the camera. These are pretty basic UI standards - I can't see why they have been implemented so poorly.

I certainly appreciate the candour and openness that you are displaying with your product. I am a software developer so I know how nasty the public can be. Your willingness to stick with the product is the main reason I am sticking with Elemental. I have played 6 games so far, and only last night have I managed a win. My overall feeling is that this is a diamond in the rough. The patches that you are putting out are great and the work you are talking about doing is exciting. All the best to y
