When you attack a neighbouring monster and fight the battle it doesn't cost any movement points but if you auto-resolve the battle it costs you the full points for moving onto the tile.
I founded a new city and told it to build a watermill. Then I tried to queue an Inn but it would only let me place the in by the river (in valid watermill spaces) and when I clicked wouldn't actually queue the inn since those locations were invalid. De-selecting and re-selecting the city made it all work fine.
Still seems like I'd be better of in many cases building early cities 2 squares away from a resource and just joining it later. Pretty counter-intuitive
Hi, I just researched trade but am unable to build any caravans, it just says That I need trade. I thought each city was supposed to be allowed 1 caravan by default. Is there something I have to do to get trade points?
When Building Iron mines, if the mine is completely separate from any city it will build by it's self in a few turns but if its adjacent to a city, it will be placed into the cities build queue and wont complete until everything else is done. Since in the early game I often have several other things needing to be built this can be massively detrimental. I haven't checked if other resources behave like this but I'd guess that they do.
