DirectX could do with some competition in the 3d programming interface. Anyone remember when games ran best and only best when running with Glide?
To get the level of access need to have a graphics library that comes anywhere close in preformance to DirectX, you have to pay Microsoft to get the licence to use the needed API; therefore it does not really matter to Microsoft. And DirectX if free so it would be ha

Too expensive? please... the vaulted wii forces you to pay over $100 alone just to get a wii fit. You do not see people having issues with that...in fact when it came out stores could not keep it in stock. The long term price of a Kinect and xbox device and the wii are very similar when you start looking at the add on devices for the wii. It will

Simply put, some bugs are beyond a game developer's ability to fix and may be hard to work around.

I can put every ring, amulet magic item on a champion, raise him to level 10 and a unit of 12 soldiers would dry-rape him unless I abuse some cheap spell. 2 rings is a common number in games. Really what is needed is to not have the adventure tech spawn a crystal mine, but rather require the upgrade to find them at all. The a crystal cost would really reduce the quantity you can have per unit (which is supirior to an artificial limit).

Dominions3 is completely sprites-based and has 82 overall score on metacritic. EU series don't have shiny 3D, and are well-received too. AoW:SM is sprites-based, and you can see sells stats on Impulse yourself, I'm sure they are good enough for such old game Whenever I see fra

Maybe items could be given a survival chance. Things like padded armor and clubs would virtually never survive, but uniques (particularly the items for the Master Quest) would always survive. Also, you should get the stuff from your own dead.

Either wait for 1.10 and the first major changes to improve gameplay (this is also when the demo comes out) or trust Stardock will make things better and buy now (which gets you the second expansion free). The really fun stuff is not hear yet, but it is playable now without excesive crashes.

In fact would you accept to be the last ally to a faction that is already allied with everyone, thus handing out the victory to them? For it to happen either the majority of gamers would need to stop judging games by the pretty screen shots / trailers, or developers will need to crank up the prices (and people be willing to pay them) to where they can afford to put in the time and funding into doing a remake that matches the original, only with better graphics. Neither seems likely to happen soon.

With very few exceptions, the only time I use shortcut keys are hand-eye type games where you need to group & move units quickly in a real-time environment, games like age of mythology, otherwise I can't think of any cases I need a shortcut key. The game defintely needs some more windows. The city list should include what's in teh city, and there needs to be a caravan listi
