tech tree problems for kingdom factions in War of Magic Stardock Forums

I am repeatedly having problems with my factions being left behind all others, in that they always seem to build on improvements such as gold mines, metal mines, ventri deposits, and shard locations. I can never complete the harvesting techs under civilsation and shard harvesting under the Magic tech trees. The research completes but new technology is not discovered so I cannot build on the mines, and shards. I also do not discover the advanced civilisation techs such as granaries etc et
