Outpost: I believe it has been said somewhere that outposts wont be attacked. They also want to remove the defense line in the upgrade outpost line. [quote quoting="post"] Suggestions: - it would be nice if the equip button would get you to the equipment tab in the unit details instead of the details tab. With units in an army you even have both the equip and details button to click, and both take you to the details tab. - the load

B5: Spell: Place road Problem: Is the place road spell supposed to be only castable on non-forest non-beach tiles? If yes, place change this as the spell now become rather useless. The 'Enchant land' and 'Cleanse land' spell are not intuitivve. It is not possible to know, which tiles they can be used on as there is no clear indication of what kind of tile you are selecting. I mean it would be nice to know if you are currently above a grassland ti
I have also seen 1), 2) and 3) .
Is this due to the thread programming, where each unit has its own thread and they move simultaneously? Hence it is not possible to check if the tile is occupied as at the time of moving the tile was not occupied (as seen by both units).
*bump* updated post.
In my three games I have played with B5, it is only in the last game (started yesterday) that I saw the SK attacking shards. And this happened in the middle phase of the game.
SK looks really great. I like the art, though I would love to see a shelf with the spell boooks. Suggestions I just thought that during the customization of your sovereign it could be nice, if you could forego 3 spell books to gain another ability. For example as a Wizard, you could take only 3 books and gain both Hypnotism and Coercion. 3 books = 1 ability more. I think 3 books justify another ability a
Regarding the minor races expanding I have also been wondering about this. I think it would add to the game if they were able to set up strongholds or maybe maximum 1-3 additional cities (depending on map size). I cannot see that Lore-wise they should not be allowed. Heck they could be the major force against the SK, while the we, player, are supporting the minor race. ps. Should the minor factions be called the Remnant faction?
As long as you put out beta 5, I am happy. So delay the game until you think it is ready for the world. We do not want to do another Elemental... :(
But have you seen this post? http://forums.sorcererking.com/462154/page/1/ The poster here talks about ugly blue on nice red background, which does not look pleasing to the eye. You can see the problem if you on the forum click 'Account', 'Subscription', 'My Posts' etc. (places which are related to your account). Please change this blue color.
So Brad should teach the AI or Dungeon Master to minimize the number of turns to slaughter the player with some constraints. The constraints could be: - may not happen before turn 100 - the threat level must be at least 3 - player controls 90% of the shards The strategy could be: - build strongholds near the shards, - build strongholds or smaller lairs from the SK fortress to the shards e.g. prevent the player from buildin
[quote who="pi_guy" reply="2" id="3528269"] The approach you describe above where the AI learns from observed human sessions is closer to a related idea called apprenticeship learning, i.e. http://ai.stanford.edu/~ang/papers/icml04-apprentice.pdf. The main difference is that RL learns from AI-controlled playthroughs that are initially pretty random but evolve to maximize some pre-defined "score", where as a
Off-topic: Brad, have you considered contacting Google's DeepMind for clues about bettering the AI. As you probably have heard, a company under Google, DeepMind, has developed algorithms, which can receive as input "screenshots" of Atari games e.g. pixels, and play the Atari game. The algorithm can further learn from its experiences and better it itself. For example a youtube video shows how DeepMind are getting better at Breakout. [video]
I tried to let it be more funny than the usual bug report, while at the same time trying to get the message out. :)
Currently they are busy with GDC, and then it will probably be 1-2 weeks for the last details for beta 5 including testing etc.
I was so tired of my allies blocking my path that I decided to use the 'Place road' spell. Without this spell I just think I would have dstroyed my allies instead. The problem is as far as I can tell that the allied units cannot make a decent path / route around other units/cities. If a road continues through a city, the allied unit will just stop in front of the city without ever moving forward because the AI is too dumb to consider stepping aside for the Master (me).
The screenshots should be available at Flickr now.
The screenshots should now be available at Flickr now. Google Drive is not good at sharing pictures.
It should work now. I just remembered that I also have a Flickr-account. I just tested it on another browser and it seemed to work fine.
Looks good, although I miss the spell book stacking. I think there is a charm picking books and placing them on your shelf. BTW can someone tell me, what do Chaos and Wrath spell books? Is there a theme or common word for the spells in either of these books. I assume that summoning books allows you to summon units and also buff your summonings in different ways, while the enchant books contains enchancements for cities, units etc. Please correct me, if I am wron
Yeah, the Archer, Peregan, really sucks. He does not seem to have any effective AoE-skills that is worth using compared to the other heroes. I have not played him since beta 3. Keplin the Mage also needs some buffing in the form of some AoE-skills - either some damage or support (heal etc.). Maybe an innate Ball of Power (aka Fireball with magic). The tyrant hero, Naphaz, also lacks something after his Dark Spread has been nerfed. Now (in beta 4) you can only use Dark Spread e
The picture is stored on my G-drive, and I deleted the picture there believing that picture was saved in the post above on the forum servers. That is apparantly not the case, so I have restored the picture on my G-drive. Should be working now.
You do not see a picture in my post?
Can you combine outposts? If you build say 4 outpost, can you then combine them with a 5th outpost to build a really shiny outposts blinding all creatures with a dark heart? (damaging units with 20 damage in a large radius around the 5 outposts). And the graphic could look really cool, something like rays of light going from the 4 outposts to the 5th outpost, and light going from the 5th outposts outward to the area of effect. So. Cool. :)
Regarding sets of items, will it be possible adding something like unitstat aka setarmourstat, where the value could be checked by the engine. If the total value equals 3 then you gain set armor bonus. Armor Devil armor Devil def = def + 4 If the engine encounter setarmorstat, D
