I believe that "Immune to magic" means +100 to spell resistance. As such it is only to non-damage spells like slow, shrink etc. they are immune to unless you have a very high spell mastery. Fireball, fire dart etc. does not use spell resistance, as they have their own "fire resistance"-stat. Therefore the "Immune to magic" only protects against slow, shrink etc. I also believe they are immune to Titans breath.

The refined techs as StevenAus said, is used to spend your research points, when you are finished researching everything else. As such you can research the refined techs infinitely, meaning you get the bonus everytime you are finished researching them. For example refined agriculture gives you a bonus of +5 to food per grain. Researching this for example two times gives you an additional 1o food per grain to your cities. As such you can use refined agriculture to get your cities to level 4 or

Furthermore the spell can also be used to block other players from building cities. If you do not want a lot of cities, but you still do not want the other players from building more cities, this spell can go in and block the area. I agree it is overpowered as I can cover every tile on a large map with this spell - preventing the computer from building cities or reaping resources. I can also scout an area and later on cast this spell if I want a particular resource I di

- Wealthy (Sovereign starts with 150 gildar) is too weak and should be "+ 25 % gildar per turn" I just believe that 25% is too strong, especially in late game. More resonable would probably be 5 or 10%.

From the article linked in #19, it seems there are new features in the coming betas: - (a lot) of new spells, Tidal Wave, dispel magic, on city - Weapons will have more abilities as already mentioned by Brad in other posts, swords = counterattack, axes = backswing, spears = cancel out other weapons abilities - Seems that pikes are good against horses, or it is indicated that specific weapons might be good against specific units, From the article: " Alternative

[0.86] If you have managed to get a level 5 city you can see below, what you can get. Again this might be obsolete with a new beta. City Level Up buildings Note that at city level 2 and 3 there are only 5 buildings e.g. you will always get to choose among these buildings at city level 2 and 3. Level 2 (50 food) 1. Merchant Merchants produce +2 Gildar per Season 2.

[0.86] Regarding food and city levels I have made some calculations based on Manii Names contributions and from the game files. Of course this will probably be obsolete, when a new beta comes out. Food improvements (+60 food, 25%) Bakery (+10 food, +1 grain, CLU3) Dock (+5 food, 10% gildar, River) Garden (+10 food, CLU2) Granary (+20 food) Pub (+5 food, 0.5 growth)<br /

[quote who="kapeman" reply="51" id="3101559"] Quoting Manii Names, reply 46 Quoting kapeman, reply 45Although, shouldn't Stardock be documenting how the game works and how to play it. That would be definitive. I expect they will, when the game is finalized. Based on Brad's comments about Beta 3 and Beta 4 I don't expect that to be for another 6 months or so. In the meantime we'll make do with threads like this. &nbs

I am currently playing a game 0.86, where I cannot build the building merchant (one of the early buildings at city levle 2 I think). From the Hiergammon it states that the merchant is available with the tech Cooperation. However I cannot see the merchant building in the build list. When one of my cities levelled I saw I could chose a building 'Merchant' providing 2 gildar as a level-up-building. Is the merchant moved from ordinary buildings to city

If you built a city on a 4/3 spot with forest on some of the surrounding tiles, and if you remove the forest either by building or just remove them, will the material for this city be different. Also if you snake your city towards forest or other terrain features (mountain, river, mines etc.) can you increase the original yield for a city?

City levelling Are there specific buildings for each city level e.g. prison only appears at city level 3, or is there a chance to get the option prison at both city level 2 and 3? Is it possible to get this thread sticked e.g. put at the top of the forum as I believe many would find this thread useful.

In the map setting screen, if the map type is set to 'Random' and I scroll, when the cursor is on top of the field for the map type with the value 'Random', the game will crash. I believe it might be due to map-type-field not having multiple values, which can be cycled through.

CTRL+N is for a new game e.g. a rerendered map, if you have a bad starting location. Though be aware that if you press CTRL+N immediately before your sovereign has settled a city, the game will crash [0.86]

I also think that the timelin around Carrodus/Tarth/Capitar is a little bit confusing. I have tried to place the events in the order I believe they might have been meant to be in. Of course this is Brad's decision, alone, how the timeline should be. I just wish for a confirmation that the time line is correct. I am not sure about the birth of Irane should be before or after the Great Rebellion as she could have born in either times. 110 A.C. - The leaders of Calder meet with Wald

As Phoenix mentions above, it seems that Gal Civ II and Elemental share a common lore, something like the concept of Spore. Here you have the "local" world of Elemental, and you also have the space-faring universe of Gal Civ II: Dread Lords. The following text might contain spoilers to Gal Civ II. Taken from Wikipedia :

->Atlatea: You do not need the book as far as I can see. From the https://www.elementalgame.com/ in the section 'Lore /Myth' you can read that Draginol is a mortal Mithrilar, where Mithrilar appears to be some kind of spirit, which do not have a physical form. There appears to be 4 other Mithrilars, who do not notice the passing of time. Furthermore it is also stated that Draginol created the Arnor using the Telenanth and that he cre

How do you remove buildings and units from the building/training queue. This is really annoying if you realize that you would rather have trained the mighty dragon instead of some puny peasant equipped with sword and shield, which takes forever like 6 turns. I have been told to right-click on the icon for the specific building/unit I want removed/deleted from the queue. However this does not work nor does it pressing 'Delete', backspace etc. when the mouse pointer is hovering above th

I bought the game, updated it to 1.08, then to 1.09 and this Thursday to 1.09e. After updating to 1.09e, i was unable to access my saved games created during 1.09. When I started playing Friday I was asked to update again even after I had already updated to 1.09e the day before, Thursday. After the last update Friday I can see my saved games again, which I could not do the day before. However all is not well, as I now have the problem that I CANNOT see the box, where I should put my '
