TSK-Glagol/Zudoteteka are now officially a team. Eh, sorry, wrong thread.
Lol munch Well, I like Munch-heavy QoT builds, and you know that! :) Seriously, my logic is simple: he plays with I_htya regularly, so they must make a good team. Also, based on several games I've played with/vs Rob, he's not LOL at all as far as individual skill is concerned. His personal issues are another matter, of course, but I don't think we should discuss it here.
Finally got 2 games vs I_htya (lost both), was pleasantly surprised by his friendly and easy-going attitude. My verdict: his UB is really good, but I don't like his Rook quite as much. His biggest strength as a player is his nearly perfect map awareness, IMHO. Hope we get some games on more-or-less even teams, it will be fun :) I know you didn't stack teams, there is no way to know a player with 1000 games and high win % is totally incompetent as a certa
I'm not a dogmatic person. If I'll see 3 skill pts in IG is an overkill, I'll change the build again :) I'm not as set in my ways as some of the Ancient Ones [e digicons]O:)[/e] So I see this build as a permanently evolving project. Also, just to make sure I'm understood correctly: skill/gear progression is not always exactly the same for me. Of course, if I see I have no mana problems, but towers are hitting me badly, I'll take Nimoth first, etc.
Well, I just want to be as fast as possible during end-game. I've lost more than a few matches by having a super-tank Sed that was totally useless late game. So either you take Amulet of Teleportation, or stack speed somehow. The former is a great option later game, but being squishy early game in skilled matches is so bad I've dropped the idea. Most matches are over circa level 15 for Sedna, so I just maximize whatever is the top priority at that phase. I can th
@ Jona: Ah, that was a coaching match. Makes sense. Didn't know that, as Kira just wrote 'GG', and I was amazed looking at the teams, then at the DG picks. I surely did not imply you were noob-bashing, hehe :) Was fun to watch, anyways. @ pacov: isplash is a good coder, but I don't know that he is a solid player (don't think I've played with him). I have. Well, no offense, but ATM, let's just say he has the potential to become a solid pl
Well, I think it requires a separate article from my previous lengthy Sed+QoT write-up. The changes are quite significant this time. Basically, three factors have influenced my decision to change the build: (1) accumulating some 2v2 experience; (2) seeing Nastyblade's MCP/Speed Sedna in action and analyzing his build; (3) Hedgie's remark in one of my threads concerning Pounce wasting its full potential, unless you max out IG or go Cloak-Pounce. That's how I play Sedna now: <
No erebus, ub, or oak may be used in this tournament That's hilarious. ~70% of our small community cannot play anything else competitively. Oh, sorry, you've left them Rook as a last beacon of hope. All hail Rook+Sed vs Rook+Sed tourney! Or not. The second player is not limited to support chicks and weakling assassins now, I take it?
Well, there is a good reason... when you have shamblers and monks, they tend to cluster right next to you since all the ranges are the same... tower fire generally hits all your units at once unless it is drawn by the fodder. (also remember I am using only shield 1 for most of the game... with Plenor and Vlemish, it takes about 10 seconds to regen the cost of shield 1) 1 shield is enough to prevent 1/2 my units from getting wiped out when I take out an FS1 tower.
Okay, some more PR done. Renfri wants to participate, possibly with Nastyblade as a partner (if the latter will be able to make it). The One team guys are thinking of participation, too (I've spoken to Green-One). Maybe we will have a better participation rate this time.
I'd agree to hard AI, but not nightmare. I say we should have a test 2v2: 2 humans vs human + Nightmare. My educated guess is Nightmare is MUCH less scary in 2v2, Pacov. It's basically still 1v2 when it comes to portal game. All the tests we have run were HUGE games (3 humans + 1 or more Nightmares on each team): it's a different game with a different balance. I agree Nightmares are way OP in such games, but 2v2, where what really matters is mobility and map aw
About the AI, Pacov. I think we can keep it Enhanced Mod Nightmare in 2v2. Its power diminishes quite radically, when it's all about flag/portal control, and there is only one human teammate supporting it.
Add Bielasso to the list of players that wish to participate. A very good Reg, btw. If someone wants to play with a good Reg, give Biel a try.
You may add nnnils and me as a team, though he'll need an alt, if it takes too long and we somehow don't get eliminated in the beginning (which I doubt :)).
*Shied Minotaur Idol* I am not doing this because I care about you.... you are simply a more efficient mine sweeper or can draw more tower fire this way before you die. I never do that, either. It's a bit like Rook bouldering > hammer-slamming my bishops, then typing into All chat: 'LOL, why bother to summon them?'. Well, congrats on some efficient mana conservation, dear Rook! I always imagined this about Sedna.... "brrr is sure is cold out here on t
I am honestly curious to all of your answers... (miriyaka, pacov, eccentric and anyone else who wants to weigh in). The reason being... the whole "creative class", "the world is flat" and rumblings of entering the "conceptual age" is on my mind. I will go so far as to be blunt and say "ideas' may have more merit than "engineering work", and since I am a software engineer (and having been recently been burned in real life [where there are real stakes] when considering "concept" vs "work")
I've followed pacov's and Kira's lead, and uploaded a bunch of replays to the site. Also, some of the older ones are either interesting or funny. Or both. For example, be sure to check out some hilarious screw-ups: 1. http://www.jeeplays.com/replay/details/1/7 Basically, 3 pro players vs 1 pro (Reg!!!) + 2 noobs. Do you think it's a super-easy win for Kira/Jona/bronayne? Think again :) Hint: OMG_Jo
As a side note, I think perhaps gameraplays.org-like system of reading nicknames+DGs played directly from DGReplay file should be implemented. Typing in players' names does not bother me, but it's much better when ppl can see small DG icons in any given match.
Thank you, Kira!
Lol, you really haven't played with my qot. I get curr and lane on hp more often then not. I haven't :) That's why I say 'legends'.
Marchidanu and TSK-Glagol wish to participate. I've offered them to play as a team, but they aren't sure.
Because QoT is meant to be played like a selfish biatch, it just happens that she can also be incorrectly used as a team player, like Sedna. I'd speculate that it was a limitation of the developer's diligence that allowed her to shield friendly allies not in her personal army. I know you aren't entirely serious, but there is much truth to it. QoT is much more egotistic, especially your build. Well, maybe Cow's weak-ass shield QoT is even more selfish :) People&
I hope what I just wrote makes sence to everyone. Yes, it does. However, there is one basic assumption that appears not entirely realistic: Stardock makes everyone have this installer that owns demigod, people that already own DG and people that buy the game tomorrow I agree with the rest of the post, of course.
Kira, that's for you. I think only the latest 10 replays uploaded are displayed at any given moment. I've uploaded a bunch of replays, and now all the older ones uploaded by you and Pacov cannot be found. See for yourself: http://www.jeeplays.com/replay/search/3/general_replays/ Also, please close the tournament (it's still 'running') and update the results as needed. Refer to the 2/20 tourney thread for
