How to rename/mod the goverment(s)? in Modding GalCiv2 Forums

I mean to change both the name and the effect - I was unable to do so, yet. Are the goverments tech-related? (and for the name, changes in english.str do nothing - I suppose this file is not used for either mods or TA) Thank you for any help/tips. -X-

The problem is solved - it was really an issue of the drivers VS the game. When I upgraded the drivers and then forbid the game to use ingame AA while I forced AA through the graphic card, the logo is sharp as it should be (although, the opposite does not work - the game AA is still bad in my case). Thank you for the help and for the tips :)

Honestly, is the custom English.str file used in mods at all? When I copy it under my mod, no changes are reflected in game - or it needs to be in some special directory? But ..\english does not work either.. How one can use localization strings for mod's purpose? Is there any way to changes names in DA/TA through custom localization??

I'm using ATI Radeon 4600 Saphire & ATI Catalyst CC v2010.0803.2125.36577. The point is that there is no option to turn AA off - it could be either on '2x' (minimum, also there are three different methods) OR 'application will choose'. Neither of options does change anything in game for the logo. The same goes for AF. I understand that this could be high probably a bug for my videocard (still doesn't sure if its driver OR game related)... Noone else has the same experience?

First of all, there are only MajorRaces up to: [Race9] Iconian Empire -> i.e. no Korath Clan or Krynn Consulate. When I try to add or change them, there seems to be no impact in the game at all. Does this mean that this file [Language.str] is no more used for the major/minor race names and all the 'language-specific' texts have to be changed via RaceConfig.xml? And secondly, what's the heck the 'thing' with editing 2 files instead of one - when one wishes to change the

Blurred GC2 logo on the main screen... bug or feature?? in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Everything other is clear & sharp - just the GC2 logo keeps blurred, regardless of the game version (i.e. for all the DL, DA or TA). What's wrong with it?? Should I change some option(s) in .ini? If yes, which one? This thing keeps bothering me every time I start the game, it seems realy UGLY :( I suspect it could be either because of in-game logo transparency and/or because of in-game actual resizing...
