I had the same problem and suspected that the reason was that while at work I was behind the company firewall/proxy which did not allow for communications with the servers to install/validate the extensions. I took my computer home last night (luckily it is a laptop :-) ) and ran at home, installing confirming - now all is OK, including back at work.
