Last month I installed UQM and tried to play it through. The fact it is a dos game in 2018 and I have rig able to max out Far Cry 5 makes it very very tedious to play.
I'm sorry, but I have to ask, how does having a powerful PC relate to UQM being tedious to play? unless new hardware somehow makes it run worse somehow? I mean, obviously old games are old, and their controls, general design, and graphics will be

Yeah that makes sense, royalties would be a good reasoning for avoiding the lore races. And agreed on the Internet lawyer thing, as someone that has actually been taken to court and had to deal with months and months of lawyer vs lawyer written arguments, I know that the legal situation might not even resemble the logical situation as seen from the outside. I don't make any judgements on who is in the right or wrong on this, I just wish it didn't have to get ugly.

This is like mommy and daddy both getting lawyers, no matter what happens, it's not really good for us kids.
Not interested enough to read the entire thread, but I find it disgusting that this has devolved into a legal battle which potentially will be problematic for both the new games in development. If I hadn't already founded, I would certainly waited before putting money down at this point.
As someone who reads the vault updates but don't comment much, I have to say the February vault update is the first that has made me genuinely excited that SC:O might become a good game and not just something I smile while playing 30 minutes total.

Or they are the Dan'Nath (since we suspect that the Dan'Scryve / Scryve'Nath are the end-game menace). Or they were eaten by the Orz.
I always assumed their Guardian ship blazer form was related to their experiments in interdimensional fatigue, so their ship (if any) in a prequel might be very differ

Anyways, if they need to reference the gender of the captain then yeah make it so that the player can pick.
In the Star Control: Interbellum novel yes, but that was horrible so I don't recommend reading it.
Age 38 from Norway, developer and system engineer, and a fan of the Star Control games back from the first one which I remember playing at computer lab in school. In Star Control 2 Melee my greatest achievement was against a reasonably skilled friend with identical fleet to mine, defeating his entire fleet with only my Kohr-Ah ship. I enjoyed the story of Star Control 3, even though the strategic elements, puppets and poor music really detracted from it. I've also founded a Neverw
