Had to make some changes, and I hope it hasn't spoiled them for anyone. Pictures folder uses a digital painting of Cthulhu I started doing a long time ago and never got round to finishing. Customisation folder has a pair of pliers and a blowtorch, because for some strange reason the first thing that came into my head when I thought 'customisation' was Marsellus Wallace from Pulp Fiction.
Starcandy
Been using this pretty much since I got my SSD. Nice little program.
Done and done. Cheers, Doc!
Anything more than a handful and you're risking tongue strain!
Best of luck to you, Snowy, and I hope you have a speedy recovery
Made icons? I've played around making them before now, nothing this good though.[e digicons][/e]
Keep going! You'd be surprised how fast an IP gets done once you get the basic icons done. (I know you are not planning a whole IP, but ya never know, once you get the ball rolling... lol)
It's not that I wasn't planning to do an IP, just that I don't feel I'm good enough to do an IP yet. But then, I won't get better until I push myself. So I *might* make this an IP once the folders and drives are done. It'

4 down, god knows how many to go. I also need to change the folder shadow on the floor. It dictates the length of all the other floor shadows, so they're not quite right or how I want them at the moment. The writing on the document is ' Antigonish ' by William Hughes Mearns.

@DisturbedComputer You don't want to have it pulled too tight because the vibrations will pass through it, which defeats the purpose of suspending it in the first place. It should have a bit of flex in it, but not too much. Here's a couple of pictures of one of my drives suspended. It's kept stable by using washers and thumbscrews, top and bottom, to lock it into place on the cord. <img src="http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/5201/hddabove.jpg" alt="
I would venture a guess that it has a bit to do with the physical stability of the drive.
My drives are perfectly stable, and stability is only going to be an issue if you're frequently moving the case with the drives in it, which I don't. I'm a member of SPCR, a site devoted to quiet computing, and they've been advocating for years that one of the simplest and best ways to help quieten a hard drive is suspending i
Any other suggestions?
Due to the recent flooding in certain Asian countries hard drive prices are going to be skyrocketing because the flooding has shut down production quite a bit. The situation isn't likely to return to normal until maybe next year. A Samsung F3 1TB that would have cost £50 over here before is now going for just shy of £100. I expect the cost of external hard drives will also have been affected. A quick look on Newegg shows your choices c
I sure wouldn't Recommend Suspending your Hard Drive with bungee cord, that would be asking for your HDD to fail
I'm intrigued. Why do you think that suspending my HDD with bungee cord would be asking for it to fail. Especially considering that I have two HDD's suspended by bungee cord in my present case, and I've never had a problem with them, despite the fact they run practically 24/7.

I have a Fractal Design R3 Black Pearl sitting waiting for me to build my next rig in it. I'll be modding it on the side panels, and I'll possibly be cutting a hole in the side of the hard drive cage directly behind one of the front fans, so I can put a vent in there for better airflow. I've already bought the USB3 upgrade kit for the top. Not sure if I'm going to keep the hard drive sleds in there or if it

I'm not going anywhere Elsius, and thanks for the enthusiasm![e digicons][/e] What does an excited goose look like? I've only ever seen them calm or seriously p***ed off.
Updated the preview image. Regular/Open folder finished. Next is the closed folder and then I'll start on documents, music, etc.
PM coming your way, Jim.
Thanks yrag and thank you too, Doc. Essential I have a good backup plan now I'm skinning.[e digicons];)[/e]

Just a sneaky peeky at the folders I'm working on for the Dominion theme. I started doing the Drive icons and it wasn't happening, so I started doing the folders. I'll return to the drives once I'm done. Still quite a bit to get finished on the regular folder, and then I can start adding others. I'm pretty happy with how it's going so far. I'll update as I go along <img src="http://web.stardock.net/images/smiles/themes/digicons/Thumbs%20Up.png" alt=""
