Cheers, Wiz. Can't for the life of me understand why 8 bit and 4 bit are an option if they make your icons look cruddy. Ours is not to reason why, I guess. I'll get these converted in 32 bit (all sizes) and then get started on a screenshot for them. Then I'll PM MikeB314 for permission to upload.
Needed to take a break. Very frustrated with the medical field and my situation. Finally got in to see a "family doctor" and to make an appointment with a Neurologist after several years of trying. They were so concerned with my problem they finally made the appointment...1 year from now. I'll just leave it at that...the rest is just to depressing. But again thanks everyone for the concern. I'm trying to convert the .png files of the Fett Drives I made into .ico format. When I convert them the 32 bit versions look fine, but the 8 bit versions look like they got beat with the ugly stick, and for some reason all the black is gone. I'm using default transparency for the alpha channel if that makes any difference. Do I even need to create 8 bit icons? What are the best/most common siz
I PM'd Steve yesterday about permission to use .png's from the Wraith Xtreme theme. He did reply so he is alive and well.[e digicons][/e]
Hearty Congratulations, Jim! You've worked so hard to earn the title of Master, and it's more than well deserved. [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]

Congratulations to all. Well deserved.[e digicons]\o/[/e]
Have a great trip, and a safe journey.[e digicons][/e]
Cheers for the info, Starkers. I looked the USB3 WD My Books up on Amazon and I was expecting them to be a spicy meatball price wise, but they're really pretty reasonable, so I might invest in a 2TB one for my next rig. I think I'll give Acronis a miss though. Whilst I was on Amazon I figured I may as well give it a look, and the ratings are completely gash for the 2011 home version. But I am a shut in for all but a couple of hours of each week, lol. Anybody wants to steal my computer they've got to get past me first.
Yeah, I've seen plenty of those kinds of things. The problem with them generally tends to be that they don't use a soft enough rubber/silicone to effectively absorb the vibrations. That's my hard drive suspended with bungee cord, washers and some thumbscrews that came with the case. That puppy's going nowhere, a
Another convert. Excellent!
Yes indeed. Excellent!
From what I've read, Velociraptors are noisy because of the increased drive speed and the vibrations that speed causes. Though if you take them out of the heatsink they're encased in, and suspend them using elastic or something similar ( I use 3mm bungee cord to suspend my drives) it makes it nice and quiet. Unfortunately taking it out of the heatsink invalidates the warranty.
Thanks guys, I think I've got things sorted now. Sticking with NextStart because it beats the hell out of the Windows taskbar. Switched back to Firefox as well, it seems to skin fine. Okay, a couple of problems with Windowblinds. First, the Windows taskbar won't show up unless I completely exit Winstep Xtreme. Second, Pale Moon isn't skinning properly. The top bar where the minimise, maximise and close buttons are isn't showing up unless I mouseover it, and the scroll bar seems to stutter and make the program flicker.

Okily dokily. Not sure LogonStudio will be of much use though, seeing as the welcome/logon screen only briefly appears because of the SSD. I don't use screensavers, so I guess that rules Deskscapes out too. Not sure about Soundpackager. I'll have a play around and see what I like.
I couldn't wait until then, so I've just bought Object Desktop.[e digicons]\o/[/e] So what's worth installing? Anything that's likely to have issues on Win 7 64 bit?
Welcome! Good to have you here. [e digicons][/e]
Neither am I. What I said was done with tongue-in-cheek, and intended to be totally ridiculous, I suppose to highlight how ludicrous it is to put scientists on trial over an earthquake warning.
