Cerebro: I'm not a Microsoft employee. If you want to get technical the patch i use is the neowin patch i believe. Since Stardock now owns a large portion if not all of Neowin you could say the same thing for your bosses couldn't you? Since it's readily available. I'm pretty sure Microsoft knows the patch is there. One quick search and you can find it on Neowin. Now i may be using it on my own computer but i'm not distributing it either. What's that sa

You guys can take this statement and spread it over your lawn to make your grass grow really green: "That means you are no longer actually using the 'Windows theme services' but a back-yarder's hacked version. Good luck with that..." Because there is not a thing wrong with the patch. I use it religously since the only time i use Windowblinds is when i'm using one of our themes or testing one of ours. Otherwise the patch is stable as hel
And like i said, we've worked with them over a dozen times and no Program Manager over there would ever let their logo sit inside of a recycle bin. But whatever. Spin it however you want. Maybe i'm wrong but somehow i doubt it.
Funny when i asked them they knew nothing about it.
I should also note that apparently Xbox isn't that miffed over it since they know about it and haven't requested it to be removed.
Seems the edit function has decided not work. I would change my statement of "there is no chance xbox would have sanctioned the icons in the suite" to "I don't believe they would", Since i can't really speak for Xbox other than the fact that i was told this was indeed not sanctioned by them.
Be prepared for a "we'll take it down if it's requested" answer. You're also directing this to the same company that produced an Xbox 360 skin suite which from what i'm told was never sanctioned by Xbox - i spoke to Xbox myself and was told they didn't sanction it. Could be the person to whom i spoke was not privy to the information but since they rank high up i would feel safe in assuming that it was indeed done without prior approval.<br/
angleic destine: don't you have a desktop screenshot to do? Lord knows that's what the community needs another one of.
If you found that one of your skins was very similar to something created by someone else would you compromise your art? Hypothetically speaking would you compromise your art? We would change it. You can not work in the professional art field and not expect to change/compromise/make concessions with
It wasn't rejected because of the blue bars. And its not compromising not to use someone else's art. And obviously it was rejected for other reasons so how is he supposed to "go with it"? "compromising art is a sin": you will never make it in commercial art with that philosphy. Hope you have a non-artistic career in which to pay your bills.
It was used as an example to explain how trademarks work.
And so that you may learn something: "Trademark infringement depends on the likelihood that there will be confusion in the marketplace." The way our client's logo looks/skins and the way his lights look are almost identical. The users could be deceived that his wallpaper (when using the lights which are almost exactly like the artwork we created) was an official release. If his work is not as good as what we released it could damag
i'm not going to sit here arguing with a teenager. have a good night.
CerebroJD: I didn't bring this up in the first place so wtf are you jumping down my throat? Go do your homework...
Jeff, are you out of your mind? That wall in no way is any sort of rip or intellectual 'theft' of yours. CerebroJD: I didn't say the wall is a rip. I said the blue lights are. So it's not a matter if i'm out of my mind but whether or not you know how to read. Who said anything about stealing dow
And "get my drift" is no different than saying "do you understand" just more colorful.
Those 'really' are all that are needed, at most. I always include 1920 x 1200. Cyberworld: i misread what you wrote. I thought you meant you sent me an email and i didn't answer it considering the title of this forum post was "is this a rip". Just remove the blue bars and upload it.
It's not up to the public to determine if something is a rip. If i didn't answer you that doesn't give you the right to still post things asking the public for their opinion. Because in the end if you ripped TSF it wouldn't be the public we'd sue it would be you. Catch my drift? I don't consider your space scene a rip but i want you to remove the blue lines on top and bottom which is from the logo we created. I don't want people to assume this was sanc

Now, if it ends up that the non-payer can SEE this content, even admire the previews, etc, but cannot access it, being limited to what a skinner has deemed 'inferior', there's a fair to middling chance he will subscribe to unlock 'pandora's box'. If that was the case then Stardock would be makin
I don't think OS skins are rips. They are rips. They have always been rips. The only reason they've been allowed is because it sells Object Desktop for Stardock. But it's not like Microsoft doesn't know about you guys so if they don't care why should anyone else. But they are rips. They are una
