Sounds like bad luck with the RNG all right. It could also be that you need to be more aggressive about expanding your range. That affects what you find a lot. T If you were truly isolated, it is my understanding that they are trying to balance that in the map maker. It is quite a task across all the map settings and they are still tweaking it. They could probably use a support ticket with a game save showing how lop-sided the distribution was.
I wish Stardock would keep the $99 buy everything including the future at once option beyond pre-orders. In this age of nickel-and-diming DLC (looking at you, Netherrealm), it's a refreshingly honest change-of-pace. To me, it's the most ethical way of doing things- just give one price for the game, whatever it is.
I like it was a special deal for those who could recogn
Butter huh? Well then you can easily tell humble me how can I create a custom race that will be having ships colored in some specific colors? Blue colors with the gold trim fer example?
That's the point right there. Each of us has a different threshold of what makes the game ready. For me, custom colors on factions is not a showstopper. Having the game crash when

As the admiral says, "It's a trap!". It lures you away from the juicy ideologies at the end of the trees. At least, that is how I see that it works. I'm not a purist about it and will make different decisions at different times, but I try to pick a path and follow it as much as possible. Other people will have other responses. If I were you, I would listen to them, instead. I will.

Agreed. So it seems to be a range of monitors and graphics. I end up hovering over tiles to see if I get the distance message or not. Hey, it works. I also find the precursor relic icons to be very muted. In some faction internal-space grids, they are very difficult to see with these poor old eyes Either that, or someone has been twiddling my monitor settings again. I hate it when that happens. Then again, it probably

I strongly disagree in every way possible. It is the job of the game to give the player challenges. This decision point is a very good challenge. Its consequences affect the value of trade and diplomacy. That is a big win for gameplay. As far as I am concerned, this is genius game design and I hope to see a lot more touches like this. You should never be able to get everything in a game. You should be able to find continuously clevere

I have seen this behavior several times now. The pirates are attacking my poor little shipyards. Boo! The shipyards are defending themselves. Yay! But during the battle it gets a little strange. There are five little pirate ships, three of one kind and 2 of the other. They have slightly different stats but the same label. During the battle viewer, two of the pirates approach quickly and get blown up before they close. Shooting stops while

I usually play straight Terrans in space games for bunches of reasons. In GC3 standard races, I like the Krynn for some reason, though. An emphasis on growth and culture works for me. I also expect them to develop as Espionage develops. All that is likely to change as things balance and re-balance. In the end, my favorite is the one I make up for my self. Not only is it fun for flavor, but I love setting my own traits and tech tree. Right now, I am Nobody

Since you ask: I keep trying to zoom out one more level on the map. It's like bouncing into a wall over and over. I'm probably coing to keep doing that as long as the map doesn't fit one screen. Perhaps there could be a transition to mini-map type display? Minor one, when I double click on a Colonial Hospital, it changes to the terraforming display. Please don't do that. It hursts my eyes. I just had yet another family dis

It has been described over and over that the AI development is in full progress and is expected to continue well past release. Any of the points related to AI fit into every other discussion that says "...and the AI needs to know how to do this, too!" I am not sure why so many people somehow believe the devs are totally unaware of the importance of AI awareness, of this and many other things. They are actively working on it. You are, in effect, shooting at a moving tar
I say why not? It's not only about realism but it makes things simpler. Both system can work. Shipyards send ships to far away planets and colonies colonize the neighborhood.
It is not simpler if there are two different systems that accomplish the same goal, colonizing a planet. It takes a colony ship to make a colony, regardless of distance. I do not see what is non-immersive

I have gotten elected, too, with my custom race. Hmmm. I don't think you are wrong, I think they just don't like you. :) I am expecting all this behavior stuff to change several times while the AI is evolving, therefore, it isn't something I am prepared to be worried about just yet. So, don't take it personally. :)
Per Frogboy it appears not this week as he wants to do more AI tweaks before that is released.
Grrr. He will always be tweaking the AI. That is no excuse for delaying a release! We could end up waiting forever. ;)

I put in a bug report on this. I also posted it in the Design your own ship thread, but it got quickly buried among all the wonderful designs. Go look at all of them if you haven't! I thought this deserved a second look and maybe a bit of explanation. Plus, it's worth a couple giggles. I am playing with making a ship seem to fly around within a hex. I have some odd little tricks I have found with the animation and they sometimes have unexpected r

I agree with everything Larsenex said except the "entitlement" part, just because "entitled" is a red flag word/concept that derails perfectly good conversations. 1. I think that the present system is sound. It needs what was promised, which is alternate sources of Ideology points. I also think it needs more than just balancing on the whole switch Ideology mechanic. Possibly it should affect diplomacy and Trade more, since I believe in having the diffe
